Anyone else here a Dean Koontz fan? I'm sure there are and something has been bugging me for awhile and I wanted to get it out. I have noticed some coincidences between a Kootz book and an F. Paul Wilson book... but of course there are no coincidences when it comes to Repairman Jack. Anywho, the two books are Darkfall by Koontz and The Tomb by Who else?

1. Both have a hero named Jack
2. Both were published in 1984
3. Both have a child being stalked by evil creatures
4. Both have a crazy foreign guy wreaking havoc on New York by setting these creatures loose on people they got a beef with
5. Both children in the books are girls and are sometimes watched by an aunt
(Ok that ones far fetched but whatever)

Anyways the books are different in their own ways and The Tomb outshines Darkfall heavily, in my opinion. But for those who have read both do you see similarities or am I just full of Bantha poodoo?

Hello all I am new here and have been trying to get on here for awhile. I just recently got back into reading via Dean Koontz. I then saw that he as well as Stephen King highly recommended an author I have never heard of. F. Paul Wilson and my life has changed since. It started with The Tomb and i just Finished Reborn after reading all RJ novels and The Adversary Cycle up until Reprisal which I am searching for at local book stores. No luck yet but I know I will find it soon. Anyways, I check a website all the time now after finding out RJ The Movie had been in the works for a long time. At Comingsoon.net, if you type in Repairman Jack it says that director Douglas Aarniokoski, whom collaborates with Robert Rodriguez, has been signed to helm the project. Any truth to that? And for my two cents, I have always pictured Jack as John Cusack or a ripped Adam Sandler. I feel they both have the humor that can be attributed to Jack's character. Also, another actor that comes to mind is Justin Theroux. He is a good actor even though he was in Charlies Angels 2. Yes I was EXTREMELY bored that day.

I wondered one thing. RJ series and AC series are available in Japan, of course. But how about other Asian countries? China, Korea, India, Philippines, Thailand, etc etc....RJ series are available in those countries? There are no Asian members in this board except for me. So I'm interested about it.

Heroes: Origins????

"Heroes: Origins is a head-scratcher. So far, all NBC is saying is that this Heroes spinoff will introduce characters that could join the mother show in the fall 2008 season, depending on viewers' votes. Six episodes have been ordered, as well as 24 new episodes of Heroes. An air date hasn't been determined for the six Origins episodes."

And, in another attempt to stifle my creativity and plans to rule the publishing world, they've ripped me off again!!! Also on NBC:

"Journeyman is a mystery-drama about a San Francisco newspaper reporter (Kevin McKidd, Rome) who can time-travel and change people's lives. He's married and a father in today's world but has a fiancee in another time. Reed Diamond also stars. "

I've been cooking a story with a premise similar, but likely very different, for years.... still working on the paradox issue....

The only bright side is that it is on NBC... most likely will be cancelled. If it was on FOX, then it would only be cancelled if it was good.

This is too sad..... Sad

http://www.latimes.com/entertainment/la-...6975.story

When I was young I always enjoyed his movies, on TV, in a theatre.

The Long, Hot Summer
The Left Handed Gun
Cat on a Hot Tin Roof
The Hustler
Hud
Cool Hand Luke(The best one)
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid(Another best one)
The Life and Times of Judge Roy Bean
The MacKintosh Man
The Sting(without a doubt, this is the best)
The Drowning Pool
The Towering Inferno
Slap Shot
When Time Ran Out
Fort Apache the Bronx
Absence of Malice
The Verdict
The Color of Money
The Hudsucker Proxy
Road to Perdition

I saw them. They're all different genres, he played different characters. The gunman, prisoner, bank robber, detective, ice hockey player, attorney, mafia.....etc.

What are your favorite Paul Newman's movies?

I saw this last night and while it was slightly better than "Pirates 2" it still was WAY to long at 2 hours and 40 min. As usual the action goes on too long and story points are thrown out the window. We never learn why the voodoo lady resurrects Barbossa, Keith Richard's makes his cameo as Jack's father (though it is a completely wasted and pointless cameo), they introduce a new "character", Eclipso, for no reason and when they release her she doesn't do anything except create a whirlpool.

This is an action movie all the way with story as filler.

I missed the season finale of House. I tried to find it on youtube. Nothing. I googled it. Nothing. Does anyone know where I can watch a repeat of the show? Or do I simply have to wait for rerun season?

Disturbia-$12.75 for a matinee and a medium popcorn:mad:. I did treat myself to the movie this afternoon(I got a gift card for teacher appreciation week) and it was a slightly over-the-top ending away from being excellent. As it is, I thoroughly enjoyed it. The teen protagonists were realistically portrayed and the suspense was well maintained throughout. No need to rush out and see it in the theatre, but keep your eye out for the DVD.
