If you like Neil Gaiman's "The Sandman series", I'm sure you also like "Death: The High Cost of Living".

I found interesting articles.

Selma Blair play Death? And Guillermo del Toro is director? I don't know yet, but now I can't wait for this one! Big Grin

Okay, this really creeped me out:

I read in a whole bunch of different fields and genres, but October is traditionally reserved for fantasy and horror novels (and films). I'd had a copy of Bloodlines for a while, but was waiting to read it until this month, as part of my pre-Hallowe'en line-up.

About a week ago, I was sorting through some boxes of comics I'd stored away over the years. My 7-year old son Ryan is getting seriously into comics (and is developing some serious talent himself as an artist), so I was going through and selecting some for him to read (some of the titles are for mature readers, and would be too adult for him, but after he read through my collected Cark Barks, Little Lulu, Sugar and Spike, Hot Stuff, and then most of the Superman and Kirby DC titles, I'm working my way up to other stuff I think he'll like.) I was setting aside some of the early run of Jonah Hex for him when I found 4 titles that Alan (Watchmen) Moore did for Image Comics in 1993 - all loving (but very funny) take-offs on the glory days and titles of Marvel Comics. I remembered really enjoying them when I first read them, especially the ad spoofs and the letter columns in which "Affable Al" Moore perfectly copied the over-the-top style of Stan Lee's editorials and responses in the 1960s. As I reread the "Avengers" take-off "The Tomorrow Syndicate" I read a letter from one "P. Frank Winslow" of 662 Rolling Dune Way, Blech, N.J. commenting on "Affable Al's" alliteration that I remember reading when I first got the issue back in '93. The name of the letter writer seemed vaguely familiar this time...

A week later, I started reading Bloodline and stopped dead in my tracks when I read page 157.

Damn, that was weird. And funny. Who knew...?

Okay, so I just finished Sims. What else can I say but "Wow"? A damn good book, one of my favorite non-Jack books. So now on to the questions.

I noticed on the reference page that Legacies and Sims were connected and from reading the forums and the book I found it was because of the Kaze Group connection. So that got me thinking. Does this mean Sims is part of the RJ world? Or did you (Mr. Wilson) just throw that in there as a cool way to make us RJ fans go "Ooooh hey! That group was mentioned in Legacies!" If not and Sims is part of the same world and such how come Jack has never mentioned a Sim before?

Next qestion. These last two are directed to Mr. Wilson (or anyone with the knowledge) What happend to Romy and Patrick? Did they ever get married or start a relationship? Or is that for the reader to decide?

And last but not least. Do you plan to ever write a sequel or prequel (in form of book or short story) about any of the characters again?

Thanks to everyone who took the time to read the post and answer my questions. Thanks again.

My knee-jerk reaction was, "Noooo!" but I'm going to hold my breath on it. So long as they're relatively faithful to the source material and don't change TOO much (I won't mind if they shred 3 even though I liked it). Hello, John Connor wasn't aged properly between 1 & 2 so there's a lot to play around with.

Growing up I was lucky to see Dick Clarke in PA and later from CA, THE BEATLES on Ed's and other shows featuring great bands. So name your tune!

The movie was quite suspenseful, and as your Vampire movies go, I rather enjoyed it.

The premise is very simple. A small and exceptionally remote Alaskan town is getting ready for a month without the sun.

As more than three quarters of the population leave, heading to other locations, the remainder hunker down for this long, lonely time.

However, unbeknownst to them, their small town has become the target of a group of ravenous vampires, who send in a quisling in order to cut them off from any potential help and to ensure that their month of feeding will not be disturbed.

The gore wasn't that major an issue for me. Lots of blood, but it didn't really go over the top until near the end. Even then, at least it wasn't over the top like SAW or Hostil. Or is it Hostile? Eh, moot point.

I must say that the ending did take me by surprise, and it was sad, but very well done, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

The movie did suffer from a few continuity flaws, and there were things about it that simply defied logic.

For example - now power, no heat. It gets frakin' cold up there! They would have froze to death long before the sun returned.

Also, at the beginning of the movie, they were on the shore, watching the sun set for the final time in 30 days. Then they were back at that same spot at the end of the movie. As far as I know, the sun rises in the east and settles in the west.

Still, other than these minor quibbles, I enjoyed the movie and recommend to others to see it.

We all have at least one. So what are some of the movies that you hardly ever admit openly that you enjoy?

I have a few. Legend, Top Secret, Real Genius, The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes, A Boy and His Dog, Benny and June, Sid and Nancy. Okay I'll stop there for now.:o

After I saw THE INVASION, I also saw "THE GOOD SHEPHERD".

Matt Damon, Angelina Jolie, Alec Baldwin, Robert De Niro, William Hurt, and.....Joe Pesci. Joe Pesci?! Where have you been?! Big Grin

The movie had excellent actors and actresses, but story was flat. It hadn't undulations at all. Just one word "Boring".

"Skull and Bones" really existed? One day I saw the movie, "The Skulls". I thought it was a fiction. Interesting...
