**SPOILER**

Okay so it was established in Haunted Air that stones were brought in for their "mystical powers" from Romania. Are these stones referring to the castle in the Keep....I am currently reading the Keep right now so I would appreciate it if you guys dont tell me whats going to happen. ALso does this Dimitri guy have anything to do with anything in the other books....I still consider myself a newbie with FPW, but look forward to finding the connections with everything. So are those Tau crosses from the Keep, or I heard someone mention them having something to do with Midnight Mass, which I have not yet read either, but would explain why my copy of Haunted Air has a piece of Midnight Mass at the end.

Well...you knew it was coming...especially if you've read the Remake thread.

Movies that, in your opinion, should get a sequel.

To start us off:

Big Trouble in Little China - My other favourite Jack

Serenity - Bring back Nathan Fillion and the Firefly gang (and find a way to bring Wash back!)

Return of the Jedi - Episodes 7-9 - ONLY if Lucas is not involved...Spielberg, on the other hand...

Let the "no sequel is a good sequel" complaining, commence.

Heh.

After an auction last month I was finally able to complete my collection of Gauntlet editions of Repairman Jack novels from Conspiracies to Bloodline. It was The Haunted Air that was giving me trouble. It seemed no one had it anywhere. And the one copy I did keep seeing floating around was an ex library copy for $600 which I just laughed at. Then the auction came up on ebay and I was the only bidder and got myself a copy- for $200. (Yay tax refund!) I was just cruising my fetchbook account which still has The Haunted Air listed as a book I'm looking for and discovered that someone just put up a lettered copy on abebooks for $49.95.

So if there's any collectors looking for a lettered Gauntlet edition of The Haunted Air... it's a great deal.

Cover is finally on the Gauntlet site

Not sure myself, think it should have featured Santa Big Grin

I've never played the video game, so I am unfamiliar with the continuity.

My main question is: what's with the Dark Angel rip-off/homage at the beginning of the show?

I watched the Director's Cut. As far as the movie goes, it had its moments and could have been much better. Kind of a poor-man's Transporter...without any moral qualms about wetwork.

Since there was only one point in the movie where I thought the actors didn't give a convincing performance, and since the writer was the same one that did Swordfish, I blame the (novice) director. Perhaps it needs a remake

Heh.

I'm sure the (inevitable) sequel will be better.

There seems to be many new people joining the fray and rather than welcoming everybody individually I'll just toss out this form letter hello and tell you all that your theories are making my brain itch. Don't you realize how painful it is for me to sift through my crippled memory banks to recall this stuff? You've got me wondering if I've even read the same books; keep up the good work.

"Untraceable" is great suspense movie by Gregory Hoblit. His Primal Fear, Fallen, Frequency were excellent.

The plot is cat-and-mouse chase by serial killer vs. FBI agents. FBI cyber crime specialist Jennifer Marsh, she attempts to track down a serial killer who displays his murders on the Internet.

In "Untraceable", you'll see some horrible scenes like SAW series. I warn you. If you dislike sadistic violence scenes, I don't recommend it.

Diane Lane, she was one of my favorite actresses since The Outsiders. And, even now. Wink

I have recently finished bloodlines, and I have some theories which may already have happen in FPW books i have not read, namely the Adversary circle. Given the high anount of oDNA in Jacks blood, which is probably part of that which made him a "straight branch," the Ally could have thought that his baby could be a threat, which could have been why the Ally chose the baby to be the one that isn't revived in Harbingers, instead of Vicky or Gia. Also, Dawns baby will have a very, very large amount of oDNA, so much, in fact, that it may be born with an oddly diamond shaped head and four arms.

hmmm...

It is generally accepted that Hollywood is remaking too many movies.

Since there seems to be little we can do to discourage them from their folly, I was curious to see if the Board Members had any suggestions on movies that should be remade but have not been, as of yet.

My first suggestion is one I mentioned elsewhere (I think it was the Who Will Direct... thread):

John Carpenter's Prince of Darkness-the special effects in this movie were soooo bad, and the acting wasn't much better...and yet I still find the movie extremely creepy.

...and then of course:

The Keep-need I elaborate?

Any other remakes that would be a good idea?

Uwe Boll. Oh, do you not know who he is? Let me give you a few hints:
  • House of the Dead
  • Alone in the Dark
  • BloodRayne
  • BloodRayne 2
  • In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Seige Tale
Still don't know him? German director, movies hated by prettymuch everyone who sees them? No sense of taste whatsoever? Challenged internet critics to fight him in a boxing ring to end his negative criticism, and picks the smallest, scrawniest, weakest guy and kicks his ass? Yeeeeeeeeeaaaahhhh, HIM.

So there was a poll put up recently, called "STOP UWE BOLL," to which he responded that if it reached one million signatures, he would stop making movies altogether. Well, now it's reached over 150,000, so he decided to respond to it. Check this out.

Now say it with me: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHHHHhhhh...

I particularly loved the name-dropping, and Dr. Boll's dubbing himself a "genius" was über-classy.

FPW, I dearly hope that this isn't the German director you'd once mentioned in the Great Search for a Director (for the Repairman Jack movie).

And P.S. - His new movie, Postal (yes, based on the video game), starring Scott Farkus from A Christmas Story, featuring Osama Bin Laden as a main character and a scene of a passenger plane hitting the Trade Towers as a comedic moment, is set to open on May 23rd, right after Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Dr. Boll believes that Postal will blow Indie out of the water, and that his grandfather could kick Harrison Ford's ass. Good day.
