It was great to see the last two "Jack" novels get the unabridged audio treatment.

I was hoping that we could start petitioning Forge to release the back list on unabridged audio as well.

There are probably a lot of people like me who spend a lot time in the car and would enjoy being able to take "Jack" with them.

Am I alone here?

I'm watching this now and the first thing I notice is the bad New York accents. Ray Stevenson and Colin Salmon have bad accents too. Doug Hutchison and Julie Benz, Americans, can't do a New York accent. I'm not an actor and I can do that accent better. Other than that it's okay so far.

Wait, one other thing- when do brothers EVER refer to one another as brother? Weird.

Am enjoying reading FPWs account of raising triffids on Twitter. Quite amusing.

Hope he doesn't get busted for raising the buggers; according to the man himself it's illegal where he lives -- wonder if that's because he doesn't have the proper permits or whether NJ is oppressing the Right to Bear Carnivorous Plants (hey, it's in the constitution somewhere, right).... ^_^

I just started reading Sibs for the first time. I'm maybe 50 pages in so far. I thought it was cool to see a Julio's reference in there.

... and write a Repairman Jack / Harry Dresden crossover.

Much humor and fun to be had. Plus it would be awesome. Not to mention made of win and 9001.

Too bad I only started on the first three Dresden books only 3 days ago, otherwise I would've suggested a crossover book much earlier, as opposed to when the RJ series is almost done...

FPW, you mention that you recorded an audio commentary to be released on CD when "The Keep" came out on DVD. Even though they haven't released it on DVD, I would like to hear it anyhow. I have an old VHS copy that I could sync up with the CD.

Perhaps it could be made available as a download from audible or I-Tunes. It would save on production costs (for a CD) and all the fans could get a copy.

Any chance?

Joe Konrath first mentioned it last year, and I heard it again recently at Romantic Times. So I looked it up.

John Clute says: "UFs are normally texts where fantasy and the mundane world interact, intersect and interweave throughout a tale which is significantly about a real city."

Well, that would certainly fit The Tomb: mythological Hindu demons transported from India to NYC to fulfill a curse/vow, ancient magic necklaces with healing powers that allow two characters to live indefinitely. They intersect and interweave with Manhattan and with Jack who is the ghost in the city's urban machinery.

The first recognized urban fantasies are either Faerie by Ray Feist or War for the Oaks by Emma bull, both published after The Tomb.

So, yes, there's a case to be made but I'm not entirely comfortable with it.

What do you folks think?

I saw the trailer for this the other day in front of Wolverine. I went online and quickly found an uncensored and subtitled trailer that makes it much more interesting. Enjoy.
