Ok, here is your chance to rate all of Paul's RJ books/stories... If you haven't read the book (like most us haven't read Infernal yet), then don't rate it yet!

Just choose a star rating for the book listed in the Topic Title. In this case it is: The Tomb.

Merry Christmas to all on the board and beyond.

Anyone get any FPW-related stuff?

I got a signed gift certificate thingy from Gauntlet Press, worth $50, from my mother. #12 out of 25 copies out there, all signed by The Man himself.

Also, I seem to remember a certain something which is now available for pre-order which only cost $50...hmm...

This movie is absolutely awful. The acting is below the high school level, and I can't imagine what possessed Mr. Wilson to put his name on the screen play. Because I AM an F. Scott Wilson fan, I rented it. He should put a disclaimer up for fans not to rent it.

I just thought about this bit of nostalgia last night and lo and behold a company called Rhino put out the first 2 mini-series. I have to get them.

On a side note, it hit me that the guy who played Cobra Commander was also the voice for Star Scream and I was right. He was also the original C Montgomery Burns.

This looked awful on the trailers, but I rented it out of loyalty to Daffy and Bugs.

Not bad. I especially liked the Area 52 sequence which brought back a lot of old friends. I recognized the Metaluna mutant from This Island Earth, the Man from Planet X, a triffid, a Dalek, a pod-carrying Kevin McCarthy (in b&w, no less), Robbie the Robot, Ro-Man, Marvin the Martian (of course), and apropos to a previous topic, one of the Fiends without a Face.

In fact, Area 52 made movie for me.

In Xanadu did Kubla Khan
A stately pleasure dome decree
Where Alph, the sacred river, ran
Through caverns measureless to Man
Down to a sunless sea...

Hehe...yes, got the rest memorized, too. One of my favorite poems, right up there with `Jabberwocky' and `Fire & Ice'...

Out of the hundreds of books that I have read in my comparitively short life, I don't believe that I have ever read better foreshadowing than FPW's. I won't name any specifics in hope of not spoling it for anybody (or in the case of my current book im reading saying something that won't turn out to be true) but in The Select specifically and many of the RJ books, I think he does the best job I have seen in a long time of an "Oh my god, is that...but no...wait.....IT IS!" type of thing that leaves you waiting for the characters to figure it out and to reafirm your suspicions. That is my favorite thing about FPW's writing, right up there with his great job of moving a story along, even when switching points of view. Anyway, I just read something that gave me that aformentioned feeling, and I had to post something about it. (I am currently reading Select and havn't put it down hardly in days!)

Bravo FPW, you have managed to turn me into a giddy reading maniac once again.
