I don't know if this was suggested before, but as a fan of "The Secret History of the World," I think it would be cool to read a backstory (trilogy?) on the construction of the Keep or futher tales of the battles between Glaeken and Rasalom. Since Rasalom has been killed before (a la "Demonsong" and info illustrated in Gateways) I think it would be cool to read about their struggle throughout the ages. Anyone agree?

Okay so I need to complete my collection of the repairman jack limited edition series from gauntlet press and as you could probably guess the only copy I need is the haunted air. I cannot find it anywhere at all except a 599$ copy on eBay. If there is anyone out there who has a double or is looking to help me out big time, please reply back to this post. I am willing to pay of its reasonable but leaning more towards a trade. I have all of te first edition copies in great condition of the adversary cycle as well as a few gauntlet press doubles of a few rj books including the dark at the end still in shrink wrap. I'm willing to trade a lot for just that book to complete my collection and I'd e extremely happy! I also need dark circles but that is more practical in finding. Thank you rj world!!!

Hey all, I'm here to confirm what we already as a collective knew. FPW is The Man!

Met him at Marcon today, where he graciously signed all my books (21!), posed for a picture, and shared some time to talk with a gibbering starstruck fanboy (fan 'senior?') when the queue behind me wasn't occupied. It was great meeting one of the best writers of all-time and having them be so gracious and giving such great fanservice. He even offered to stay past the end of the session to make sure I got my whole collection signed.

I knew from interacting here and on Facebook with FPW, that he was cool, but I was floored with 'how cool' when meeting him in person. Thanks again, sir, for making it such memorable event!

(funny side note...true to my forum handle, my wife's pic of me had the good doctor as you see him here, and my red eyes were flaring...in true Otherness fashion...thank you red-eye software...)

Looking forward to New Who Day tomorrow! Anyone else? Early theories about the new companion?

I'm in the process of re-reading the Repairman Jack series so that I can finally read the newer version of Nightworld. I'd read the Adversary cycle at least three times before, now I'm reading it again to compare and contrast the new finale. But, after splurging a little and joining this online web site, I'm reminded of the hoops that Jack was made to jump through in the book Crisscross. (That's the book I'm in now, BTW.) Does anyone else feel like the rules and agreements for this fan-site are similar to those found in the Dormentalist Church?

Last week, I saw "Cloud Atlas".

You know what? I just wanna say..."So far, this the best movie in 2013!!!"

Poor jack, if he hadn't saved the world with Glaeken a few years ago, 2013 would suck heavily for him. Did anyone see the story on the news in te last few days where this guy punched a person in the subway and stole his phone? Every single angle of his face was caught by the cameras in the subway station and he was tracked down within a day, and he's homeless on top of that. What would have happened when jack popped that guy I'm hosts ? They for sure would have reviewed all the footage from the day and given him much more hell than he needed!

The History channel has Vikings on Sunday nights in my area. Anyone else watching this? It's filmed in Ireland and has captured my attention. We watched the third episode last night....and I'm liking it more and more.

I've agreed to sponsor 5 of my readers for the Fanfest event at this year's Thrillerfest. We're not talking a big deal - it's a two-hour event - but you might have fun.

The challenge for me is how to pick the five. I thought I'd start here on the Forum.

Do this: If you want to go, check out the Fanfest page to see if you can go (i.e., are you free and is it worth it to you to come to NYC on a Friday for a 2-hour gig?)

If that's you, then add your name to this thread.

NB: Do not add your name unless you're sure you can go, because if you turn out to be a no-show, I promise you a slow, agonizing death.

Hey, everyone. I just wanted to let you all know about my new short, The Prophet, written under my pen name Jay Rauld. It's a $0.99 horror/comedy short with a good deal of existentialism thrown in.

Description
Greg is a reporter who is about to get the story of his life. The Prophet, an elusive figure who makes predictions about disasters has just tapped him to do an exclusive interview. Except Greg's not really a reporter. Two minutes before entering his apartment, he didn't exist and when he meets the Prophet he finds out his true purpose- to kill the Prophet. But killing someone who is near omnipotent isn't easy, in fact, it takes more than one try even if you get it right.
The Prophet is a half horror, half comedy, half weird and will leave your jaw fully dropped by story's end.

Greg’s heart was racing like a heavy metal drum solo. He closed his eyes for a count of three and ran down. He tripped over someone he never even saw and they both rolled down the concrete steps. Greg hit his elbow and tailbone, crying out once in the tangle of arms and legs with a man whose skin didn’t feel right to the touch. They both came up, the man placing his hands on his knees as Greg grabbed wall to pull himself upright.
“Man, you gotta be more careful,” the man said. Greg looked at him and his mouth fell open. The man had a defleshed goat skull for a head and his skin was a shade of purple. He looked up at Greg with deep-yellow, owlish eyes and said, “What?”
Greg couldn’t speak. He shook his head. The man narrowed his eyes and his tongue rolled out of his mouth.
“Sayyyyy,” he said. “Are you that reporter guy?” He pointed a sleeveless, muscular arm at Greg. “It’s you!” He took a step forward, grunted, then looked down at his vest. The butt of the long knife stuck out of his torso like a handle. “Fuuu…” He collapsed.

You can also get it on the UK store here.
