Something Paul said in another thread:
FPW Wrote:Haven't Googled myself in ages. Last time it was "Images" and I was so horrified I never went back.

made me stumble upon this:

If you're in the Chicago area and want to see Dead in the Water on the big screen you now have an opportunity to do so. Facets and IFP/Chicago will be doing a screening at Facets Theater (1517 W. Fullerton Ave.) on Sept. 19 at 9:00 p.m. Ticket prices are generally around $5. Several cast and crew are expected to be in attendance. I'll post more information as soon as I get it.

We are also tentatively scheduled to do a screening in Lawrence, Kansas in October. More information to come.

In Nightworld, Bill and Jack take the necklaces and shards of Glaeken's sword to a very strange little shack with some very stange inhabitants. I remember these characters being very interesting, and completely out of left field (for me, anyway).

In All The Rage, I seem to remember that when jack arrives at the Freakshow he notices a strange little shack and makes a brief comment, something along the lines of 'Who would live in such a strange lil shack?'

Question is: Is this the same shack? Is this a reference to a FPW story that I havent read (so the ref is lost on me) or is this something he's written in to later develop? Is is it nothing other than a ref to Nightworld?

Looks really good, both Sorrel and I are looking forward to a trip to the cinema for this one!

Trailer

A (sort of) sequel to the original Death Wish, this is a story of a father out for revenge/protect his family. The police are useless (who could have guessed!) and the courts have let him down, so the only option left to him is an 'Abe' style gun dealer and a lot of ultra-violence.

Directed by one of the bozos who created 'Saw' and based on the Brian Garfield novel, this looks like an interesting little libertarian action film that I am surprised hasnt already got it's own thread in this forum!

NOTE---- Major spoilers abound. You've been warned.

Three words: Over the top.

Over the 39 years of my life, I’ve watched thousands of movies, read thousands of books, watched more TV than I care to state, and I can safely say that this movie had scenes that I’ve never seen in any media form before.

Ever.

Did I enjoy it?

Immensely! Never doubt that for a second.

Note that my review contains spoilers, so don’t read further if you want to see the movie, or don’t care about spoilers.

Have you ever seen a couple in the middle of hot monkey love get into a gunfight and CONTINUE to engage in carnal relations? I haven’t.

Have you ever seen a gunfight take place during skydiving? I sure haven’t. If I have, I don’t remember it.

Have you ever wanted to teach some jack-off on the streets a lesson about signalling, or speeding? This movie is for you.

Ever wanted to deal with someone dealing out corporal punishment in public? This movie will give you satisfaction.

Plot wise, it was pretty complex. What appears to be a homeless man gets involved in trying to rescue a pregnant woman from someone who is clearly out to kill her. It just gets weirder from there.

He kills men by the dozens, all the while helping her deliver. Make that yet another scene I’ve never had the privilege in witnessing.

Sadly, the woman doesn’t survive the ordeal, but the infant does, and more and more people continue to come after the baby in order to kill it.

Later in the movie, it’s revealed why the baby has to die, and despite this, Mr. Smith does everything in his power to prevent the death. All the while the body count continues to grow, and the stunts, not to mention the gunfights, get more and more outrageous.

If only the Li, Statham movie War had been this enjoyable.

Many years ago, I read tons of adventure novels while going to school and for years afterwards. Mack Bolan, Able Team, Stony Man, Deathlands, Survivalist, just to name a few.

The action in this movie was like taking scenes from these over-the-top adrenaline filled, lactose laced pieces of pulp fiction and putting them on the silver screen.

Don’t take this movie seriously, and you will enjoy yourself.

Anyone seen this film? I've seen Seven Samurai and Rashomon but never this one. Loved it. LOVED it.

Anyone else?

Good ole' Amazon sent me an e-mail, trying to get me to buy the newest book......Bloodline. Silly company.....I have my copy... But I did notice that the trade cover is similar to the paperback versions (of earlier installments) you see on shelves of book stores now. Ease in finding the saga as they all have a similar, slick look to them. But I like the look....the "kick" from the advanced copy cover. Wink

Intelligent! Insightful! Well Acted!
I thought this was beautifully done and really challanges the viewer. If you liked the original show and tv films you will love this.
