So now that everyone has gone out and bought Paul's latest and greatest novel BLOODLINE (and if you haven't you really should) help a couple indie filmmakers out!

Today marks the release of Dead in the Water throughout North America! Go to your local video rental or retail store and pick up a copy. If they don't have the DVD demand it!

You can also order online through Amazon or Barnes & Noble. As of today we are currently ranked #7 in Amazon's Independently Distributed Horror category.

The film is also available at Blockbuster and Netflix so if you're not the gambling type rent it!

So tell your friends and neighbors and lets make Dead in the Water one of the top indie film releases!

I've been howling like Chaney jr for Paul to do a series on Jack's buddy Abe for some time now and I need help in others joining in on the cacophonous air assault! And since their debute in "NIGHTWORLD" and gutstomping, hilarious cameo in "ALL THE RAGE", I think the Ashe Brothers (who always make me think of "The Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers" for some odd reason) should have a line too.
Cmon Paul-we the silent (OK not so silent Majority) ask this blessing!
Anyone else agree?

There is some great stuff coming up on tv-
set your DVD Recorders. Here's two to start!
"DEVILS OF DARKNESS" Fox Movie Channel
Granted, you can buy the DVD but it has been matted to 1:85! The TV broadcast, digitally cleaned up and all, has more picture information.
Will be broadcast twice on Oct. 28

"THE UNDYING MONSTER" Fox Movie Channel Rare and restored. Unlike the AMC commercial inter. version (with pop-ups) this is the real deal. Great werewolf flick and little seen. Oct. 28 at 730 AM.

Speaking of AMC, they just ran the 1959 Monty Berman "JACK THE RIPPER".
This was the originnal British version with the Stanley Black score and did not contain the colour scene at the end (that was only in the US version). Pop-ups galore sad to say!

I've begun re-reading THE TOUCH, the original version from 1986. I love all the in-depth medical touches (pardon the pun), the protagonist is, of course, a doctor. I was struck by the speech that Dr. Bulmer gives before a Senate subcommittee in Washington. It reminded me of something I'd posted quite a while ago about a couple of FPW's other books. Here is Dr. Bulmer's speech, in part:

"...I really hate to bring it up before a committee such as this, but here goes. As doctors we must - we need to - keep touching people, and by that I mean an actual laying on of hands, even when it's not necessary. It's letting that person know that there's another human being among all this hardware....There are diagnostic bonuses that come with touching...It's not something you get from a textbook, it's something you can only learn by doing. It's hand's on medicine, and too few doctors are doing it today."

Here's what I wrote a couple of years ago. I was struck, yet again, by Paul's use of hands in his imagery.

I thought I'd resurrect this thread and post a comment I'd written elsewhere on the board but couldn't find. I pulled it from my own files...

SPOILER ALERT FOR “THE HAUNTED AIR” AND “MIRAGE”

I was struck by an interesting visual link between two FPW books.

In “The Haunted Air,” when Charles and Gia are trapped in the basement by the ghost of Tara Portman, they fall into a deep pit. As the dirt walls begin to crumble, Charlie gives Gia one of the “crosses” from the stones in the wall, and she uses it to create hand and foot holds in the dirt walls. As she does so, she comes across bones of children buried in the cellar. Fighting back her fear, Gia continues to dig and begins to rise toward the lip of the pit. Suddenly ghostly little hands emerge from the dirt walls and grab Gia and Charlie, preventing them from escaping. Using the “cross,” Gia slices her way through the hands that continue to multiply, until dozens of little hands are grasping her and it seems she will never get out alive.

In “Mirage,” Julie is in the volcano of Samantha’s mind. She is desperate to connect the severed ends of a bridge that traverses a lava flow and which is a critical connection between parts of Sam’s unconscious mind. After digging deep within herself and tapping newly discovered parts of her own emotional psyche, Julie sees a response from Sam. The response comes in the form of little hands on either end of the ruptured bridge, reaching out and caressing Julie. At first, the hands are those of a tiny child, but they begin to multiply and blossom into dozens of hands from every phase of Sam’s life, little girl through adulthood.

FPW is a physician, a man with healing hands. The laying on of hands is part of medical care, not in a mystical fashion but quite literally. Every physician must use his/her hands to examine the patient.

The imagery is unique and interesting, don’t you think?

There's always lots to get from re-reading FPW's books.

aka "Mad Minx: Roadkill Warrior"

Checked it out this morning. Gotta love that $5.00 early
matinee fee!

Project Alice (Milla Jovovich) is back, and sexy and badass
as ever.

You can read my tongue-in-cheek review at my website's
BLOG.

And in closing, I gave it TWO AND ONE-HALF out of five
cans of diet cherry vanilla Dr. Pepper.

Well I must admit, I do like the new look of the site. I was pleasantly surprised when the new look popped up when I signed on this evening. I almost thought I had been misdirected. Smile
I'm sure that our two queens, Lisa and Susan are to receive many accolades for their efforts. Wonderful job ladies!

Today is the official street date for Bloodline. I hope they were able to get them into the stores after bumping the title from October to September.

Hello all,

Lisa and I have been burning the midnight oil to show you guys our new Repairman Jack site design!

Why today? Because Bloodline goes on sale now!

If all the planets align, we'll have Phase 1 of the site up by this afternoon.

Some of the old page links may not work, but the forum link will stay the same and so will the home page.

The forum design will remain the old design for now (sorry!) but The Queens will continue to work on the site for the next few weeks so it will all be integrated.

We're working hard for Phase 1 to have all the information it had before and then some. However, there may still be some glitches, so please be patient as we transition into this new site. Let us know if there's a problem.

So, having Ryan Reynolds as Jack got me to thinking. What if his co-stars were all actors that he had worked with on prior films? So, here's my list:

Gia - Amy Smart ("Just Friends")

Vicky - Elle Fanning ("The Nines")

Kusum - Kal Penn ("Van Wilder", "Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle")

Julio - Luis Guzmán ("Waiting")

Abe - Albert Brooks ("The In-Laws")

Not really being serious here. Just playing around. Thoughts?

Also, anyone have suggestions for Kolabati? (Remember the motif).
