Prize #1: A foreign edition of one of FPW's works, signed by The Man.
Prize #2: A surprise item based partly on the best answer to the essay question (all will become clear soon).

Please PM or email your answers to Susan or Lisa. The first to answer all the trivia questions correctly wins Prize #1. Susan and Lisa will judge the essay question together and decide the winner.

What are the two things that Rakoshi are afraid of?
What are the names of the old aunts?
What is the name of the chocolate in The Tomb?
How many talons does a rakosh have?
Where on Jack's body did the rakosh slash him? Be specific!
How tall is Jack?
How did Jack's mom die?
What's the name of Abe's bird?
What was the original name FPW had for The Tomb?
Where did Jack meet Gia?
what does Jack say after his night of passion with Kolabati?
What is the name of Jack's doctor?

Bonus essay question: "What is the most memorable scene in all the Jack books?"

Remember to EMAIL or PM your answers rather than posting them here! We'll be going by the timestamps on the messages we receive to determine the winner.

At the end of Haunted Air, Jack gets a pair of brothers (Mulinski? - I don't have the book on me) to take care of the remaining members of Eli's circle. Jack explains that they have a "thing" for pedophiles and that the demises of Eli's associates won't be pleasant.

Are these brothers from another FPW book? I'm certain they're not in an earlier (chronologically) RJ book.

Thanks,
Lee

Tomorrow we'll be posting a trivia contest (with prizes) relating to the Jack books. This is your fair warning since the winner will be the first to answer the questions correctly. Be ready! Big Grin

Hi Everyone,
I have been a Repairman Jack enthusiast for a long time, but just now have checked out the website. Nice! I had originally read another F. Paul Wilson novel and loved it and looked for more by him. Then I ran across Conspiracies and was hooked. Thanks to the info on the site here, I realized I missed Gateways and so am looking forward to reading it. I just read The Haunted Air and got a huge kick out of it. This is a first for me to join a message board for anything, but I enjoy the books so much. Thanks!

Raise your hand (or...just post something here) if you're gonna be patient and WAIT for Nightworld to come out in its revised form, and not read the current "alternate ending" that it is.

*I raise my hand, ready to take on a verrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry quiet response from the RJ message board*

...or maybe that was a stupid question. I just want to see if I truly am alone in this.

The Hi-Res is worth it--mind you, play the "Hi Res" Film, not the "Pieces of the Puzzle" bit; the latter is a "making of" feature that runs six times longer than the movie.

It's pretty well done; some bits are cringeworthy (to be discussed when others have seen it), but overall good. Kind of got me pumped. Really well done, overall.

I like the Joker in this one better than in Batman: Dead End (another fan movie on the same site); he looks both crazy and malevolent.

I just watched ZARDOZ with Connery, Sean Connery, and boy, did it "blow my mind." It was so dated, it was laughable. When it comes to dated movies (SERPICO comes in at second), Zardoz has got to be number one. Any other votes?

Every couple of months I visit my friends Dan and Lisa Melbourne and their children Katie (8) and Alex (5) in sleepy La Plume, PA. It's my custom to bring books for everyone, and last time I brought Katie THE CHRISTMAS THINGY. As Paul suggests in the foreword, I read it aloud. Usually I'm not a good reader--tend to rush--but for once I took my time and read with such brio that Shatner himself would have shouted, "Now THAT'S acting!" The little girl was entranced. I was more than happy to read it again, pointing out subtleties in the wonderful artwork. But the best part came two days later when I say saying "goodbye 'til next time." I found Katie in her room reading the book to her little brother! Helping him with big words! (They are both exceptional readers for their ages.) Ah, that was such a fine sight... Anyone else on the board give the book to a child? How did the young'un like it? (If you haven't read it and you're a fan of Paul's fiction--who here isn't?--track down a copy. After you read it, you'll be smiling for the rest of the day.)

Finally, Open range released in Japan, and I saw it in theater.

It was pretty good. Kevin Costner and Robert DuVall, this two guys were amazing. Last gun fight sequences were great, thrilling, and powerful. Recently, western movies dwindled. I hope this is not last western movie. I'm waiting for Alamo's release in Japan.

BTW, funny thing, this movie's Japanese title is Wild Range. What do you think about this title? Wild or Open........

Steve D (putting his ass on the line here with this suggestion, but...)
FPW has already written in stone that there will be no sequel to Nightworld a la MAD MAX and no prequel to The Keep; however, what if DEMONSONG were one of many encounters by Rasalom and Glaaken in post-destruction worlds reduced to barbaric post-civilizations by Rasalom? Wouldn't that mean that in yet another post-destruction world (namely, Earth) after Nightworld that Rasalom and Glaaken could meet again in the barbaric post-civilization that would grow after Nightworld on Earth? The Keep prequel (which would be in flashback to their real first meeting) and the Nightworld sequel (which would be in the present at their real final meeting, leaving Jack and family and the other survivors representing the new world ahead after the grand battle and thus closure) could be wrapped up in one book: The real grand finale of the Adversary Cycle in the post-apocalyptic world of Nightworld.

Anyway, this is what I dreamt last night after eating some Thai food, so you can imagine how I spaced-out I must feel right now, waking up with this idea in my head. It made so much sense in the dream. Jack was there. And Glaaken. And even you Toto. Sighhhhh. Ah, but a man's grasp should exceed his reach, or what is a Heaven for? Alright, I'll go take a Zantac now. I'm sure there is nothing here that Mr. F Paul Wilson hasn't thought of already....

THE END??????
