Abe is my favorite non RJ charactor. I know its way too early to list supporting cast for the movie but my answer for Abe would be Jason Alexander. When Abe appears in the book his face comes up in my imagination. Jason can do the accent. He also close enough to Abe's age for it to work. Plus he needs the work lol-------Mark

Huge fan of F. Paul Wilson's Adversary Cycle/Repairman Jack stories...I have them all in paperback form.

That said, I'm a little peeved about the availability (or lack thereof) of the re-written/re-telling of the Adversary Cycle.

You have to be a wealthy person to read these stories ($60.00 a pop?) as they will apparently NOT be released in affordable paperback form until after the final Repairman Jack story is written...and this is unknown at this particular time.

From what I understand, the MAIN reason for this is to avoid conflicts with the final story, Nightworld.

If this is the case, why not release all of the other novels of the Adversary Cycle in paperback & hold off on Nightworld...it would be a lot less painful to wait on one book as opposed to six books.

Being on a very limited budget, there is no way I will ever be able to afford to purchase six hardcover limited editions at $60.00 each.

I know that I'm not alone in this & frankly I'm very disappointed.

Of course, maybe I missed something somewhere around here (believe me, I've searched) that will lead me to believe that there's a light at the end of the tunnel (preferably a short tunnel as opposed to a tunnel with an end that cannot be seen).

Ok so I was reading more of The Keep last night (up to page 264) and I finally discovered how its "where it all begins".

SPOILERS BELOW:

I picked up on the Glaeken name immediately and I remember that name from one of the early RJ stories (can't remember which). So as I was getting ready for work this morning I realized that Molasar was Rasalom spelled backwards. (Don't know why it took me so long to figure that out once Molasar appeared.) I assume the red-haired man is Glaeken (I could be wrong), but its obvious that he is just as old as Molasar.

So my question is should I bother finishing the book? Yes it is very interesting and I'm sure I will finish it, but the surprise is now gone. I had figured that Molasar would somehow be defeated, but I see now that must not be the case. I will admit though that Molasar is the most interesting character in the whole story...perhaps that is why I am drawn to the concept of The Otherness so much. Also The Keep is suspenseful and it kept me up late reading for a couple nights now, but I don't see how it is "so scary". But that could just be me since I don't really get scared of anything anymore.

Honestly I was hoping that Molasar would be victorious over all...I'm tired off "feel good" stories and I hope I am right in this case.

I watched Evil Aliens last night and it flirted with 'B' movie greatness. Jake West wrote and directed it and he's obviously seen the Evil Dead trilogy but he doesn't quite pull it off with same flair as Raimi. It is a lot of fun if you enjoy low budget gore-fests.

I'm probably not the best one to ask this question since I have about 30+ more books to go.Here goes After the RJ series is completed whats next? I only just discovered the great writing of FPW recently. I discovered Cussler and Hillerman late in their careers. Sometimes I think that I'm some kind of book reaper. I do read slow always having to move the pages with my scythe. Makes for a good bookmarker though-----Mark

"I'll be back." TERMINATOR!
"Here's looking at you, kid." CASABLANCA!
"There's no place like home..." THE WIZARD OF OZ!
"You know something? Nobody gives a RAT'S ass that you have to push the toast down twice. You know why? Because EVERYBODY pushes the toast down twice!" Umm...?

If that didn't make sense to you, I'll explain it simply: try and guess the previous post's movie quote. If you can get it, post the answer and put up another line/quote from a movie that hasn't been repeated infinitely in pop culture for the next person's torment--er, pleasure. Oh, and try and make it more than just one little line, if you can. Just putting "What do you want from me?" doesn't mean everybody will get the Rear Window reference.

Oh, and to refer to the above: it was Meg Ryan in Kate & Leopold.

I'll start...and I'll make it a little easy so all the other 25-year-olds who weren't raised on Fred Astaire, Cary Grant, Humphrey Bogart, the Marx Brothers, and Danny Kaye can stand a chance at getting it.

"I want to look him straight in the eye and I want to tell him what a cheap, lying, no-good, rotten, four-flushing, low-life, snake-licking, dirt-eating, inbred, overstuffed, ignorant, blood-sucking, dog-kissing, brainless, dickless, hopeless, heartless, fat-ass, bug-eyed, stiff-legged, spotty-lipped, worm-headed sack of monkey shit he is! Hallelujah...holy shit! Where's the Tylenol?"

Just finished watching the uncut DVD of "Planet Terror" from Robert Rodriguez. Awesome! Disgusting, hilarious and totally over the top. Rodriguez has a sick and demented mind and I love it. Some parts of the film just make you go :eek with the amount of blood and carnage being strewn about. And the trailer for "Machete"? Had me on the floor laughing so hard there were tears rolling down my face. Anyone who enjoys a zombie invested bloodbath homage to grade B 70's movie making injected with a twisted sense of humor will love it. I don't think I've ever since anything like it and probably never will.

Hi, everyone. I'm a new member of this Board, though a long-time RJ and F. Paul Wilson reader and fan. Amidst all of the various books, CD’s and DVD’s available to the Repairman Jack aficionado this holiday season, I recently came across something just a bit different that I thought might be of interest to some of you.

Gauntlet Press has published limited/lettered first editions of nine Repairman Jack novels since 1999, with more on the way. The cover art for all of these limited editions (as well as for numerous other Gauntlet Press books), was created by famed artist, Harry O. Morris, with input and approval from F. Paul Wilson. Gauntlet Press has now compiled a special Art Portfolio of all the cover art to the ten Repairman Jack novels they have, or will publish.

For those who might be unfamiliar with the man and/or his work, Harry O. Morris has been a published artist since the early 1970’s, his first published piece comprising the cover art for an album for the rock group OMEGA in Germany. During the 1980’s Mr. Morris provided numerous cover and interior art for books by Scream/Press, and for authors including Clive Barker, Richard C. Matheson, and Michael McDowell. Then, in the early 1990’s Mr. Morris created cover art for numerous titles in Dell Abyss’ paperback line. Mr. Morris also published nineteen issues of the noted H. P. Lovecraft and weird fiction fanzine NYCTALOPS. Since the late 1990’s Mr. Morris has worked with various Specialty Publishers.

The current Portfolio takes the cover artwork Harry O. Morris created for the nine already published Gauntlet Press Repairman Jack novels, plus the author and publisher approved cover art for the first of Mr. Wilson’s forthcoming Repairman Jack Young Adult trilogy of novels, SECRET HISTORIES. Thus, there are ten (10) cover art plates in the Portfolio Set. Each plate is 9.5” x 13,” is printed in full color upon archival quality semi-gloss paper. Each plate reproduces the full wraparound images by Harry O. Morris, without any overlying text, and with a simple identification of the name of the book and year of original publication in the lower right corner of each plate of the original cover art for the ten Gauntlet Press Repairman Jack novels, as follows:

1. CONSPIRACIES 1999
2. ALL THE RAGE 2000
3. HOSTS 2001
4. THE HAUNTED AIR 2002
5. GATEWAYS 2003
6. CRISSCROSS 2004
7. INFERNAL 2005
8. HARBINGERS 2006
9. BLOODLINE 2007
10. SECRET HISTORIES 2007

I purchased a copy of the Repairman Jack Art Portfolio as soon as it was announced. The paper utilized is indeed of exceptional quality, and it is immediately obvious that great pains were taken to ensure that the clarity and vibrancy of the original artwork, the color correction and the registration and accuracy of reproduction of the art, have all been exact and thorough. Each plate is certainly of a quality to be matted and hung, if that would be of interest.

The artwork itself is stunning. Artist Morris incorporates themes and images relating to each respective novel, and has composed covers that one cannot literally tear their eyes away from. Morris’ use of light and shadow is often brilliant, and he seemingly easily and deftly is able to combine exacting realistic detail work with surreal vision. Each and every plate in the collection is not only a striking visual message, but also, especially in combination with reading the novels themselves, becomes a springboard for thought and reflection.

This gift Portfolio has been strictly restricted to a Limited Edition of only Fifty-Two (52) sets, all of which are enclosed in a color-printed special envelope each of which has been individually numbered and signed by both author F. Paul Wilson and artist Harry O. Morris. What makes the Portfolio even more interesting and “special,” is that only those purchasing the current Portfolio will be allowed the right to purchase future plates of cover art for forthcoming Repairman Jack titles, such as the remaining two titles in the Young Adult trilogy, and the just announced new Repairman Jack novel coming early next year, BY THE SWORD. This means that the portfolio will be regularly augmented and kept current and complete with all new relevant covers. The estimated cost for all new forthcoming plates is only going to be in the $20-25 range. The Portfolio itself, available through the Gauntlet Press website (http://www.gauntletpress.com), costs $129 plus postage and insurance.

LOL -- Just for the record, I am not an employee of, nor have any ownership interest in Gauntlet Press (or any other Publishing concern) nor have I ever met Barry Hoffman, Harry O. Morris, or F. Paul Wilson. Indeed, I did purchase my Portfolio. I just thought it might be something of potential interest to some of you.

Thanks and Happy Holidays to all,

Norm

I have been gone for a while, been writing new books. I may have missed this explanation in some other thread but here goes......In following the flow of oDNA as described in the latest RJ book, which one of Jack's parents had the oDNA to begin with? I have a hunch that his dad might have had a touch of it but, needless to say, the whole oDNA thing, as far as Jack is concerned, was left hanging in the breeze.

Just seen this mentioned in the Bibliography with a release date of 2009(!!!!!)
The following is a list of the stories flagged as being from Aftershock & Others, and the list differs somewhat from the list FPW gave a while back. (No 'The Wringer'! Gaaah!!)
The November Game
Please Don't Hurt Me
Foet
When He Was Fab
Itsy Bitsy Spider
the answer
Offshore
Aryans and Absinthe
Lysing Toward Bethlehem
Aftershock
Anna
Sole Custody
Part of the Game
Sex Slaves of the Dragon Tong

I was wondering if this is a confirmed release date and if there is a final list of stories that will be included. (Forgive me if I missed any that were listed in the bibliography.)
