If you cant tell from previous posts I am a book fiend, and The FPW books are like crack for me. I cannot wait for the book to come out ( doe anybody know the release date?) and was hoping somebody might like to sell me their copy once through reading it.

Take comfort in knowing that I will still be buying a copy of the normal edition in the stores when its released as I would feel wronng doing otherwise.

Anybody?

Every time I pick up a new RJ, I wonder whether I'll remember all that went before. But mostly, I don't have to, because FPW is so good at putting in reminders of recent events in extremely subtle ways. Thanks, FPW!

What is it with John Cusack doing straight to video flicks; The Martian Child is the second one I don't recall being in theatres and while it wouldn't have been a blockbuster, it is worth seeing. John plays a widowed SF writer who wants to adopt a child who claims he is from Mars. It's a solid dramedy and fans of Cusack should check it out.

This film looks hilarious, directed and starring Ben Stiller, also starring Robert Downey Jr and Jack Black. Check out the red band trailer on YouTube to see what it will be like.

The MTV Movie Awards did a sketch about viral marketing the film. It had me laughing so hard by the end.

Check it out

Hi Everyone.

I'm brand new here (just call me Captain Obvious) but have been reading FPW's books since The Keep back in 1981. To this day I still have the first pb copy of it that has been read and re-read countless times. Over the years I have tracked down hardcovers of the Adversary cycle and everything else that I could find written by FPW, of course. I subscribe to the newsletter and have lurked around here and there but wanted to officially join the ranks here.

I'm in the process of re-reading the RJ books and am in the middle of Crisscross right now.

I look forward to getting to know you all and hope to attend a GU in the future.

All the best!

I would love to read all of the stories in Revelations at some point, but because of the ties into the Adversary Cycle, I'm getting kind of itchy to just dive in and read "Aryans and Absinthe," finally, but would it take away from the "experience" of Revelations to read that story out of the order it was presented in that book?

Just the usual geek question, I know. We all have to indulge every now and then though, don't we? :alberteinstein:

I've watched two of them lately. We'll start with the better of the two.

First off, a little background on me. I've always loved the original "Jaws". Man against beast movies have always found a soft spot in my heart, especially when they're giants. We'll start with "Rouge".

"Rouge" starts a bit like "Crocodile Dundee" with a big city columnist checking out exotic locals and both end up in "Podunk" Australia. But the hero (also known as four eyes) climbs into a boat with 10 others and goes for a small tour to sample the wildlife but the main meal was to be the scenery. I hate to say too much, and this movie is not that long. The acting was sound, cinematography was excellent, and the ending battle was reminiscent of any knight from King Aurthur's court fighting a dragon.

The second is "Black Water"
Overall it's all right. The actors were convincing, the setting was perfect. It just seemed like they borrowed the scariest scenes from the first two "Jaws", added Laura Croft, and threw in a crock maybe 12 foot long and left most of the plot to women screaming in the trees. The predictability in this movie is akin to a "Star Trek" episode when four people beam down to a foreign , hostile planet. Will it be the three main characters that get killed off, or will it be the ensign we've never heard of before that gets killed? Hum....,

All in all, it's a good double feature. Especially if you love the "Jaws"/"Lake Placid" genre.

Bon appetite!
