Every once in a while, I will be watching television and I just think it would be great to see what would happen if Jack teamed up with one character or another.

Now I know none of these will ever happen, but what who would you like to see Jack team up with?

My favs:

Monk- If there is one detective in all the world who would notice Mister Invisible himself, if would be Monk. Monk would then of course have to track him down. Picture Monk in Julio's. His head would explode. Then Jack having to put up with Mister Monk's ...er... Tendencies.

Munch - they are both in NYC. Mister I work for The Man, but hate him so I am a cynic meets mister I hate the man and do everything in my power to avoid him.

Munch and Abe in a room together. "All black, you should wear? Slimming it is, yes. A Stick you are. Maybe I should be wearing black, Nu?"

Ash ( sorry, had to go for it. ) - Jack needs his help to destroy the Compendeum of Srem, but Mister Housewares mispeaks, unleashing a demon so unimaginable it makes Rasalom tremble. Sam Raimi.

I'm sure theres been a thread like this before but screw it

BY THE SWORD SPOILER**************

Glaeken explains Jack that during the First Age Q’qr women were made to die, in the hope of fully exterminating the Q’qr race. Unfortunately it backfired, the Q’qr men attacking human women and raping them. The half-blood Q’qr subsequently born were not retrofitted like their fathers, but were as violent. All half Q’qr were isolated on an island, and a cleansing flood was sent on our little corner of reality. In the slight confusion that ensued, half Q’qr and full humans mated, thus ensuring the dissemination of oDNA in our genes.

Now, compare with Genesis 6:

1And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them,
2That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.

The Otherness could be called a God, couldn’t he? A badass one, granted, but still. And the Bible doesn’t say that God (the one you are supposed to believe into if you do not want to land in hell) had a wife.

took them wives: could be an euphemism for rape. Anyway the Bible never struck me as a PC book, especially where women rights are concerned.

4There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.

mighty men. Bingo. If Q’qr were powerful, their children had to be quite powerful too. And they are called “men” because they were not retrofitted, thus looking like men and not like Q’qr.

12And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth.
13And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.

God sends the cleansing flow. The Nephilims unfortunately could swim and be back for new adventures.

Had seen it on one of the movie sites I go to but didn't pay it no never mind until I saw a commercial for it in the video store today. So i just watched it and I must say it was an awesome funny little comedy.

Aaron Eckhart ( who I can't wait to see as Harvey Dent and Two-Face) is one of my favorite actors, so I had to watch. It's very much in the tradition of American Beauty but in some ways better, if less stylized.

So anyway, If you're in the mood for a fun movie, give it a watch.Cool

[SIZE="3"]Wow. An over-the-top gorefest in the “Dead Alive” tradition. I do not like gore if it’s realistic. This is not - it’s stylized to surreality and absurdity. We’re talking fire-hose sprays of blood. This is a perfect Bad Movie Night film. Buncha guys, buncha beers, buncha pizzas, lotta groans and laughs. (I don’t recommend sushi with this.) The relatively high FF Rating™ is due to my skimming through attempts at acting and character/relationship development - that is NOT why you rent this movie.

Today I bought Stephen Hunter's new novel, "The 47th Samurai".It's A Bob Lee Swagger Novel.

I read synopsis. It surprised me.

Philip Yano, the son of the Japanese officer who commanded the bunker on Iwo Jima where Swagger's marine father won the Medal of Honor in 1945, approaches Swagger about a missing sword wielded by his father, Hideki, during the battle for the island. The sword turns out to be not just a family heirloom but a national treasure that evokes echoes from the most sacrosanct corners of Japanese history. Yano's search reveals there are those who will gladly kill for the honor it bestows upon the possessor. Plunged into a Japan where honor and loyalty outweigh even one's own life, Swagger finds that an old warrior like himself still has much to understand.

Oh, wait a minute....Search for Japanese sword? A family heirloom? It's almost BY THE SWORD! Cool

Seems coincidence, but Jack would say "There is no more coincidence". Well, in this novel, Bob Lee Swagger come to Japan. That's interesting! I'm looking forward to reading it.

I just bought Bloodline a few hours ago and read the first chapter. Can't wait to read more. I was wondering, since there are other Repairman Jack Novels is there a particular order I should be reading, before I get to far in Bloodline.

Oh my God. Get this IMMEDIATELY. As soon as this starts so do the laughs. It wasn't available for my Blockbuster queue but it was at my local corporeal store and I'd kinda been flirting with it off and on for about a month or two. Well worth the rent (especially considering I got it free).

Xander Crews is a billionaire playboy who really loves being his alter ego, Awesome X. He's got a flying headquarters, henchmen and one problem: he just killed the last major supervillain.

That's where Killface comes in. He wants to drive the Earth into the sun with his $20 billion dollar Annihilatrix but he's beset with his own problems. Mainly the Annihilatrix still isn't complete and he no longer has money for an advertising campaign (kind of need people cowering in fear before you can kill them). The best he can do is a postcard mailer that only reaches 10,000 people, one of whom, is Xander Crews. I won't go any further, but you won't be disappointed.

The animation is the same as you'd expect from the guys who brought you Sea Lab, Aqua Teen Hunger Force and Space Ghost: Coast to Coast and if they wanted, the story would be easily ported into a movie.

I should have known soon after putting the DVD in this was going to suck. I thought the DVD was either dirty or scratched because the thing wouldn't even load right, but when it finally made it to the title screen everything seemed to be in working order. The opening sequence was...well, dumb. It's a comic drawing of a man in silhouette sitting in front of a fortune teller being rotated, zoomed in on, etc., and much like the amount of the actual movie I could watch, a cheese grater for the eyes. The stories were completely uninspired, uncreative, poorly acted and poorly directed. Someone-must-have-been-related-to-or-screwing-someone-important-to-get-this-made bad. There is nothing reminiscent of either of its predecessors to facilitate using the title 'Creepshow'. A girl walks home from school just as her father is testing out some new remote that causes interdimensional travel and radiation poisoning and a scientist who is just mean for no reason, two serial killers that come to blows (which could have been interesting had they not handled everything after the premise wrong) and a dude with a talking radio (as if that's unique). I just couldn't watch anymore- my wife could have used it as evidence of spousal abuse in a divorce proceeding.
