A smattering of different dog types. It might be interesting to see a Japanese lady with a Tosa Inu. Or a South African lady with a Boerboel. I would take those dogs in a fight with chew wasps. Hell, maybe even in a fight with Roma. Look them up....

On another note:

I tend to belive that the dog lady is a manifestation of Gaia. Certainly she matches the description of a personification of the earth. And check out of the Gaia Hypothesis... sounds like blending the earth in parrallel with the Otherness and wherever the Ally is from.

He's mentioned once or twice in two of the RJ books. I recall that one of the dog ladies said that Jack was chosen for a reason, and it was his destiny. Who is Jack's uncle? Why was he not mentioned at Jack's father's funeral. I believe he was said to be Jack's father's brother.

Bravo! The only beer I really like. Funny thing, I go to Brussels 2x yearly to work out of the american embassy, and had Hoegaarden a few times over there and didn't think anything much of it...but.... my on/off girlfriend here for some reason drank Hoegaarden with lemon, and damn its fantastic. The trick is to cut the lemon as slices and put the lemon in the glass, on the bottom, first and pour the beer on the lemon. Wow...

I was in Brussels last month and told a bartender there that and he never heard of having it that way. Looked at me like I was crazy.

Hats off to FPW for using it in By The Sword...

If you haven't read Bloodline please don't read the rest of this post, it contains spoilers.

I just finished reading Bloodline and one thing i don't understand: Jack met the author of the Jake Fixx books and discovered the author dreamt everything that happened to Jake. And that was it, that story line just ended. Is that mystery going to be solved in later books? I can't believe someone as secretive as Jack just accepting someone else dreaming about his life without trying to find out how and why and if there is a way to stop it.

Lately the boyfriend and I have been on a bad movie streak. We watched Night of the Lepus - nothing like bunnies going on a killing rampage. We also watched Black Sheep recently as well. And a few others that were kind of hit or miss in the hilarity department...

Any other bad movie (so bad they're hilarious) recommendations?

"Be Kind Rewind" is a little gem. Apparently this movie is small budget film, but I really enjoyed it. Because....

Jack Black as Jerry. Jerry's body got magnetized by accident, then he touched videotapes in his friend's rental store,"Be Kind Rewind". Of course, you can guess what happened, aren't you? That's pissed his friend off. But they got one "good" idea.

Remake by themselves. :xd:

The Lion King, Rush Hour, Ghostbusters, Driving Miss Daisy, and Robocop...

Their remake films are very very cheap and silly. But somehow their rental videos got popular in a town.

Jack Black, Mos Def, Danny Glover, their performance are funny and excellent. Especially the last sequences were touching.

SPOILERS BELOW!!!

[SPOILER]So Jack goes through hell for the entire series. First he gets drafted into the whole thing, then one by one his family members start getting offed. Even his unborn kid gets wiped out. His girl and his suragate daughter keep getting thrown in harms way.

What for?

So he can help out in the big fight. That's it. Help out. I mean, seriously, it all strikes me a MAJOR unfair that he gets put through all of this and never gets his shot at the Big R.

Its almost like I would like to read an alternate ending where Jack has to take on Rasalom and Glaeken gets to stand on the sidelines and chant away the darkness.

Am I the only one feelin this way?

I have had a CD of this concert for years and I absolutely love it; it rarely leaves my mP3. It is some of the most exciting fiddle music I've ever heard(great household chores tunes). Anyway I discovered that one of my libraries had the show on DVD so I watched it last night and all I can say is WOW. Barrage consists of11 members: 7 fiddlers, a drummer, a percussionist, a bassist, and a guitar player who are all incredibly talented musicians who have a real flair for theatrics. Fabulous stuff that I would dearly love to see live sometime.

Here is a link to their website-I see that the band has changed personnel since the show I watched.

And how about a couple of video clips:

I've been thinking about this for awhile but keep forgetting to ask about it. In one of the RJ books (I forgot which one) one of the regulars plays Meatloaf on the jukebox. This ticks Jack off and he unplugs the juke. I was curious if this was a reflection of The Man's feelings. And if so what did The Man think when he heard that Meatloaf was going to be in Pelts? Anything along the lines of 'I hope he didn't read that book' or 'That was Jack, not me.'?
