Hello - new to the board, fan of The Man (as I see he's called here, which is as it should be, of course). I was perusing the site and came across Mr. Wilson's explanation of what makes a bestseller, aka velocity.

I've recently purchased a Kindle and I see that Ground Zero will be available. My question is whether or not the Kindle sales are taken into account the same as any other pre-order or actual book sale from like a B&N, Borders, Amazon.com, etc. Anyone know?

I'm just curious since the Kindle technology is still fairly new and just starting to take off. I apologize if the question has been asked (and subsequently answered) elsewhere on the boards; I haven't had time to read everything yet.

Thanks!

As long as I see the trailer, I think this will be the best sci-fi action movie in 2009. Cool

I can't wait!

The Collector--excellent plot. Cat burglar must get money by midnight to pay his wife's (girlfriend?) loan shark. When he burgles the cased house, he walks in on a variation of SAW. Good mix of genres worked for me. Stay till the very end of the credits for a preview of Collector Part II.

A Perfect Getaway--Trailers give away ending, but getting to that ending was loads of fun. Nice gore. Only pretty women in Hawaii, I guess. Oh, and only buff men. Less said about the plot, the better. Enjoy the rental.

Time Traveler's Wife--Love story. No SF. Time travel is treated like a disease. Bana could have had the Swine Flu and it would have been the same movie. Phoeey.

The Hurt Locker--Intense movie. Take a trankie before watching this flick. Spoiler!

Fastest exit of a major star I've ever seen Quicker than Steven Segal in that airplane movie. If I don't mention the Segal movie, does that nullify it as a spoiler?

Ok so I just started Reprisal and when Rasalom shows up he's described as being in his early 20s. Now I know that due to the order that all the books have been written in and the time setup that some things won't appear right. But my question is, in the newer version will this be somewhat corrected, or maybe be explained as Rasalom can alter his appearance or something? I'm just wondering as Reprisal is supposed to take place right before Nightworld.

Where exactly in central park was the hole in Nightworld?

Sometime soon I have to meet somebody in Central Park at night. Figured it'd be kinda funny to meet this person on the exact spot the hole opened.

Anybody?

What day should we purchase Ground Zero for maximum push towards bestsellerdom?

Went and seen this friday with knowing really little about it besides it was about aliens. Well I went and seen it and have to say I really enjoyed it. It to me seemed like a perfect blend between comedy, action, gore, and even some sweet moments. The CG was amazing. In some parts the aliens seem as real as the people in the scene with them.

Some parts were really gory but most scenes sceme to have an underlying comedy feel to the gore.

I would highly suggest this film. Very surprising with going in with really no expectations and not knowing anything about the movie.

Before I became hooked on Repairman Jack, I was hooked (still a big fan) on Lee Child's Jack Reacher novels. Anyone else here enjoy reading the adventures of Jack Reacher. Like Repairman Jack, no one messes with this guy and gets away with it. I do see some simular traits between the two characters.

Hi Paul,
I realize that this was mentioned in another thread, but does your publisher plan on releasing Ground Zero in ebook format? (Aside from Kindle which I don't own.) I see from Fictionwise - where I generally purchase my eBooks from - that By The Sword is listed, but I don't remember if that was a day/date release with the hard cover or it was released later on.
Thanks,
Steve
