As I predicted in the "United 93" thread, the "World Trade Center" is a piece of political fluff, whereas "United 93" was apolitical. Here's what the L.A. Times review had to say:

"Larded with fake uplifting moments too numerous to mention, "World Trade Center's" insistence on up-close-and-personal heroics puts it at the opposite end of the spectrum from Paul Greengrass' austere "United 93." If that film had too little overt emotion, this one has too much. It's too bad it wasn't Greengrass who directed Berloff's script. That would have been the Sept. 11 film worth waiting for."

The full review can be found at http://www.latimes.com.

P.S. To be fair, the movie was uplifting, tear-jerking, and very, very Republican (I know because I am one). But as I enjoyed this well-made manupulative movie, I could feel the marionette strings tugging at my emotions. Conservative propaganda for the election year. Sigh! (which smiley is for the sigh?).

Good morning, i hope everyone is well this morning. I didn't think i could be more excited than i had been after reading all the other RJ Novels. I bought The Tomb over the weekend at Walmart and, guess, what, i am more excited. This is my favorite of the RJ novles without a doubt. I loved every word of every page. A great adventure story if ever there was one and it was nice to finally be able to read where it all began.

Everything about the book tugged at me from page one, the characters, the story, the intricate interaction and relationships between the characters. WOW, WOW, WOW is all i can cay.

I only have Harbingers and the Last Rakosh left to read and can not wait until i can get my grubby little paws on them.

What's next in the RJ saga? Anyone?

Ya know Bad Cobalt couldn't wait.....................
I've finished the revised Nightworld......even though FPW himself suggested that I wait. Well denial and I don't get along very well ya know.
Where to begin...............SPOILERS BELOW...........Please don't read if you want to wait. You are stronger than I.

WOW, the changes are HUGE, yet the story flows as it did before. This goes to show us what a brilliant writer FPW is. Okay I'll stop gushing now! Wink
We never got to experience what Gia, Vicki and Abe went thru in the bunker..........truely creepy those burrowing slugs.....yuck  Gia being so brave as to not tell Jack how bad things were. Jack was torn before........but that would have thrown him over the edge.
And a mention of Tom, I thought we would hear about him again.
But the best part, the part that gave me a chill of realization and happy, happy, joy, joy........the little girl with the puppy and Parabellum on her head, dare I think she might be...................
I've had my dose of RMJ, can't WAIT for the next installment.....I'll just have to re-read the Adversary cycle again. Big Grin

I think this is rip-off from The Keep....

This is Japanese comics. The title is "Noroi no Kuro Juji (Curse's Black Crucifix)". The story is almost same as "The Keep"

"DO NOT TOUCH BLACK CRUCIFIX!". The priest said and died. But Adel didn't know that meaning.
One night, Adel woke up because she heard scream in the midnight, then she found out her friend Jeffery's corpse in basement of church. Why was Jeffery in basement? Is this something concerned with father's last words? One after another, cruel murders happen. Because church had broken crucifix.

I've been treating myself to an Eddie Izzard festival. BBC America On Demand had been showing his concerts. I watched all of them and ordered more on Netflix. I'm in love. It's as simple as that. He's cute, smart, funny, extremely likable, enjoys sports, loves to shop for makeup, and he fancies girls. He's my ideal man, though he is a bit too smooth-skinned. I suspect he shaves/waxes everywhere. But I digress.

He is hysterical and very good at what he does. I can watch his concerts again and again. I especially love to listen as he provides a commentary on himself. I found myself answering his remarks as if he were in my living room...would that he were.

I fell asleep and dreamed that I gave up my life in New York, everything, to become his something (never did quite figure out what) and followed him all around the world. What a nit! But it was fun while it lasted.

Eddie Izzard is the best stand up comedian, hands down. No contest.

I have #5 and I was just wondering who has the other lowish numbers, especially the first 4 and 6-10. It seems at least a couple of the people must be on this board.

I'm about to start with the German translation of Infernal - I've translated all RJ novels into German except the first one - and came upon a small problem. In the Acknowledgments FPW thanks a certain Bob Massey for finding the "Hinkley T40". The only T40 I could find via Google is the - mark the spelling - "Hinckley T40", a Picnic Boat. Is this the object, which FPW thinks of being perfect? Perhaps somebody could enlighten me.

What author wouldn't be pleased to have a blurb by the saviour himself. Would you pass up a book that was read by Jesus? Didn't think so. I of course would let Kirkus blurb first but here is what I would say of FPW's work.

"If you enjoyed the Bible, you'll love The Keep!" -Jesus Christ

"I would command Abraham to kill EVERYONE for more F. Paul Wilson" -God

"The Tomb scared the sheet out of me!" -The Holy Ghost

"If you read only one book this year...you may be borderline illiterate." -Jesus

"F. Paul wilson will be the only author in Heaven, get a head start on his work now." -The Great Redeemer

"I died for your sins. The least you can do is buy Harbingers." Jesus

Caught an airing of this on cable last night and I was hypnotized. What an excellent flick. Angela Lansbury was phenomenal as was Frank Sinatra. It kept me rivited even though I already knew how it was going to end.

This movie was simply awesome and I enjoyed it much better than the Denzel Washington remake.

Has anyone else seen this version?

Due to the fact that my step-son, Mike Parrish, is one of the stars of Marc's film, we received a courtesy copy of the finished film on DVD from Marc yesterday. I've already PM'ed Marc what I thought of his (and Dave Moore's) work, but I wanted to state here as well that I am very impressed with how it turned out. The production values are top drawer in every respect, certainly far better than anyone could expect from a "low-budget" independent movie. Although I am openly biased in favor of Mike as my step-son (he was brilliant as "Joseph"), and Marc and Dave as my friends, I thought everyone connected with the film performed beautifully. Cinematography, SFX, make-up, editing, and of course acting were all of high quality.

If you expected a low-budget slasher of the calibre of the original "Night of the Living Dead" or "The Blair Witch Project", raise your expectations! This film deserves to be widely released.
