Where do things stand right now with the Marc/Paul collaboration of the filming of SIBS? If you have a good grantwriter, I could steer you toward some money to finance the endeavor as long as the budget doesn't exceed 2 million bucks. For good or bad, Obama has opened the door for Arts Funding; it's a bit of bureaucracy to get it, but it's reachable. I just got 1.1 million for a Greening Project for solar panels for a theater. Anyway, what's up?

AC

P.S. I bring this up because I like the spirit of the posters on the Repairman Jack movie thread: Let's do it ourselves. Starting with SIBS seems more logical as we do have all the components here and now on the board to get the ball rolling. Writer. Director. Whatchathink?

I've been watching this movie, LOST IN AUSTEN, the past few nights as it is just under three hours and I must replay some scenes as the British accents are a bit diificult for me to follow. But I must say, this is a damn fine movie.

In short, a Jane Austen fan finds a "magic" door in her bathroom that transports her into her favorite book, Pride and Prejudice, and Elizabeth Bennet, the heroine of P & P, is hurled into modern London. No, this is not a comedy, but a drama (with a shade of fantasy/sf). If you're a Jane Austen fan, as am I, you will thoroughly enjoy this movie. If you think Jane Austen writes "chick" books, you'd best pass on this and go see Bruno.

AC

P.S. My jaw dropped when we are jolted back into modern day London after spending virtually all our time in the 19th century. Seamless.

According to Amazon it looks like FPW will have to share his Ground Zero release date with some book called the Lost Symbol by someone named Dan Brown. Good luck to that Dan Brown guy. Rolleyes

Has anyone seen or heard of Moon? It stars Sam Rockwell and the voice of Kevin Spacey. It's really good. I don't want to give too much away. But in the beginging of the movie you'll find it's about a guy who maintains a mining station on the far side of the moon. He's stationed there, alone, for three years. Two weeks before his time is up there's an accident...
...He then wakes up back on the station. He goes out again to check out the accident and finds himself in the wreckage.
It's a good science fiction movie but when I start talking to some friends about it I can visibly see them lose interest when I say it takes place on the moon.

Today I saw New Harry Potter movie. It was good. But I prefer previous film, "The Order of the Phoenix".

"The Order of the Phoenix" had many action sequences, but "The Half-Blood Prince" had silent dark mood. Not boring, but it was slow pace, so 154 min was too long for me.

As a matter of fact, I quit reading this series since "The Goblet of Fire". I thought "Well, sooner or later, it'll become a movie, so I wait for theatrical released film."

Next final movie, "The Deathly Hallows" has part Iand part II. Can't wait!

I know it was mentioned by FPW in a thread ( Can't find it but I know it was said) maybe a year ago, that Jack might end up taking a sojourn to Utah. I was wondering if this is still going to happen.

Heads up U.K. classic horror geeks. It's your lucky day. Michael Mann‘s cult fright flick The Keep is set to get a rare theatrical screening at the London BFI next month. Based on the novel by F.paul Wilson, The Keep was first released in 1983 and starred some of today’s most well know classical actors including; Jürgen Prochnow, Ian McKellen and Gabriel Byrne. A major box office flop on its release, it has gone on to become a firm cult favorite among horror fans and despite countless calls for one, the movie has yet to receive the proper DVD release it deserves - Come on Paramount..Get too it! For more details on the screening times and dates, head over to the BFI’s site. Link below.

Thought some of you might find this interesting. An atom thick material that's stronger than diamond.

...an excellent film noir from Denmark. It's about Jonas, a man who causes an accident in which Julia is left blind and an amnesiac. He decides to visit her in the hospital where her family assumes that he is her boyfriend, Sebastian, and he decides to go along with the charade. All is good until Julia's memory starts returning.
