I totally agree about that scene in The Exorcist. My other favorite from that movie is the scene where Fr. Karras is trying to explain to Fr. Merrin that there seem to be three personalities, and Fr. Merrin calmly replies, "There is only one." Absolutely chilling.

Although it is probably not my favorite, the first scene that came to mind is the boat getting tipped upside down in The Poseidon Adventure

I love all the Rocky movies and my favorite moment is when he shouts to Adrian at the end of the fight. I'm not sure if that's in the first movie, which was made in 1976, but if not, it's in the ballpark.
