It will be interesting to see just how many women like this series vs how many men can't stand it.....
until the hot female vamps show up.
Maggers Wrote:I checked him out on IMDB. I generally don't go for blondes, but, oh my, I could change my mind.
Mm hmm, my thoughts exactly. I don't know anything about him as an actor, really. But in the first trailer I saw, they showed him for just a couple of seconds and my immediate response was, "OMFG, who is THAT playing Eric?!" Physically, he is perfect for the role. And if he sucks (no pun intended), well, at least he's pretty to look at.

cobalt79 Wrote:I've made similar comments before about women and vampires, so this shouldn't be any surprise....the guy vamps on this series could bite me any day....wow!
Agreed. The guy playing Bill is just super sexy.

AsMoral Wrote:The series as a whole is interesting, I really like the Lousianna dirty south feel to it. I can almost smell the crawfish boils.
I really love what they've done with portraying the town. I've always had a bit of a gripe generally with it, because Charlaine Harris created a pretty accurate portrayal of a small Cajun town... then she went and stuck it up north near Shreveport. I've pretty much made my peace with it by now though, just one of those little annoyances that pops into my head now and again.

Oh yeah, I also find Tara grating. Well, last night I was alternating between her making me giggle and finding her grating. I guess time will tell what direction they ultimately end up taking that character.

How many vikings does it take to change a light bulb?

None. The light from the burning monastery is more than sufficient.

May the Norse be with you.

I have only read 3 of the books and HBO was on free last weekend so I saw the first episode ... then I told my bf who pays the cable bill that he has to order HBO so I can watch it every week. So he hasnt done that yet, so I havnt seen the 2nd episode Sad

But I thought Anna made a really good Sookie.

The world is full of idiots ... It's up to you to not be one of them.

The last book was From Dead to Worse. So much more about why Sookie is special is explained. I'm looking forward to the next book.

Thanks to Maggers for mentioning On Demand .... I see that I have until the end of December to order HBO and then I will be able to watch all of the episodes up to that point.
I just hate waiting though .....

Who caught last night's episode? I do have an un-fair advantage, I've read the books. If the writers stay true to the story, Sookie will have some fun soon. The previews for the next episode gave us a glimpse of Eric and Pam. WOW! I'm glued to this one. Big Grin

Last nioghts episode seemed more of a bridge than an actual episode. Still...this show is consistently enjoyable. (For a vampire show).

If this show is a success I predict we will be seeing Anita Blake in the very near future on TV or in a movie. One thing has always been true: success breeds copies.

They passed an old woman who was just opening the door of a brown Cadillac. An old man was already sitting in the passenger seat. The car had a personalized plate with the letters “J-U-S-P-R-A-Y”.
“That stuff work?” Israel said to her.
“‘Scuse me?” the little old woman said, clutching her keys.
“The spray. Does it keep them away?”
“Keep who away?” She looked confused.
“I gotcha.” Israel gave her a conspiratorial wink.

Anita Blake will have to be toned WAY down. Some of her "antics" can't be possible  and would rate a XXX.
