That is what I thought at first, too, but if you look really carefully, you can see a point of origin, and it is a bullet hole. And you see him fiddleing with his belt, maybe to put a gun back...

I don't think that's what Libby was doing, but I'll do it, and not so veiled either.
For a bunch of gun-grabbing, socialist-leaning liberals that so much of Hollywood is, they sure do like to depend on their "hero" being armed and able to shoot.
Can't have it both ways. Either responsible people who keep and bear arms are the good guys or they aren't. Certain Hollywood celebrities are very two-faced about it, which I have no respect for whatsoever. (Are you listening, Ah-nold?)

My DVD player has a handy-dandy ZOOM feature. I zoomed to his hand and I can distinctly see the curve of his forefinger all the way around to his thumb with no gun in between. That doesn't mean that he hadn't already put a gun in his jacket or waistband, though. It also seemed like an odd position to be holding his hand/arm. My first thought was that maybe he injured the hand while smashing the window pane, but I'm not sure if that makes sense either.
As for the window itself, a bullet hole normally (at least in films) creates a circular "spiderweb" pattern. This window appeared to has scattered cracks at odd angles ..... very similar to smashing a window pane with one's hand (speaking from experience).
So I can't DEFINITIVELY say there was no gun, but I can say that in the instances where I could see his hand, there was no gun there.
Now I'm going to watch Life of Brian. I'm pretty sure that there are no guns in that movie.

I thought the door was one of those that looks cracked but isn't. Kind of crakled glass. A bullet in that would produce a similar effect to what you discribe.
