Yeah the Ak has a better round (but heavier) and you can pretty much fire it in any condition, but its not very accurate when fired on full auto...at least not that I've seen.

I've always wanted a G3, but could never afford one. Now that I can afford one I've barely been back in the states long enough to get one! Such is life.

The M203 is awesome...I especially love the "pop" sound it makes when the round is fired...awesome stuff.

I've fired both the M16A2 and the AK47 in full auto. You have to lean into the AK more to keep it pointed at center mass, but then no effective round is accurate on full auto. I suspect the AK74 would be more controllable than the AK47, and I understand it's better at defeating soft body armor than the AK47.

The G3 would be awesome! I've never shot one, but would love the opportunity.

The old M-79 went "bloop," hence the name "Blooper." The M-203 has a shorter barrel and a higher pitch. In Vietnam, the Blooper man always carried a few flechette or shotgun rounds for close-in defense, but mainly relied on his buddies to protect him from direct fire. With the M-203, you get both rifle and grenade launcher. Still, that old blooper could really lay them in there! Not since the old Japanese knee mortars has there been close-in, indirect fire.

I like a nice three-shot burst (as long as it is not fired at me). If you can't hit your target once with a three-shot burst, you're not trying. After three shots on full auto, you've probably wandered away from the target anyway. Both the German H-K G3 and the Austrian Steyr AUG have that. I prefer the Steyr, naturally. No levers to set for single, three-shot, or full-auto, just press the trigger for each, depending.

Do you mean the M16A1? The M16A2, unless you've modified it, does not have a full auto capibility; it was replaced with the 3 round burst.

Hmmm, a few similar ones for me. Have you seen the new Ghost Hunters International? I hope it gets better as they go, so many awesome sites to investigate but the crew seems so stiff and seems to be trying too hard.

1. Seeing my daughter hit those discovery/lightbulb moments.
2. Uncontrollable giggles, preferably mine, my wifes or my daughters.
3. Watching my big tough 240lb Mastiff get scared by something like a grasshopper or a leaf blowing by him when he isn't expecting it. Usually brings on the giggles I mentioned earlier.
4. A slick transition into a submission that no one saw coming, preferably performed on a higher ranking belt but anyone will do.
5. Discovering a new movie, book, music or TV show that you really really enjoy totally by accident.
6. Cooking, its weird but it relaxes me better then most things.
7. The small of my wife's back, which leads to...well, you get the point.

Yes, I watched GHI. It was okay. I am not big on the crew they assembled. I was thrilled when Grant and Jason got rid of Brian Harnois, he annoyed the hell out of me. Now he is back and global.

The guy from Ireland gets on my last nerve as well, he seems to find something paranormal in every corner. I guess I just like the skepticism of Grant and Jason during the investigation and this new group seems too optimistic. I'll give it few episodes before I abandon it.

You're right about the M16A2. I've fired both the A1 and A2, so I was mistaken. On the one hand, I'm offended that "the powers that be" thought our troops needed to be limited to 3 round burst fire. On the other hand, full auto is not that effective except for suppression.

As it should be! If we were still a nation of riflemen, all of our troops would have been brought up with guns in their households. With good trigger control, you can fire a two or three round burst on "full auto". I've done it on the AK47, M16A1, HK94 and the Thompson. It's just a matter of "being one with the gun" as I've told the people I've taught.
