I suspect that Ben has some psychic powers of his own.

I think that Miles has been introduced to help acustom (sp?) the fans to the fact that Walt ain't the only one with mysterious & spooky powers.

I think that Ben has psychic powers because of something mentioned in the Lost: Via Domus video game. Because the video game's canon status is questionable, this is not the only reason I suspect this. How else could Ben coordinate so many different spies and schemes and faked plane crashes (not to mention move $3,200,000) when he spends so much of his time incarcerated by one person or another on an isolated desert island.

I think that some of the most intersting and revealing facts will come to light whenever we see some more flashbacks of Ben's life between him being a child and him killing off all the Dharma people.

I accidentally dropped a load of worthless change in the street. I was going to just leave it there but a burly policeman lumbered towards me and said, "You'd better pick that up, son."

I think you're right. I think the biggest mystery on the Island is Ben. Who is he, really? Who does he represent, if anyone, or any institution? How can he know so much and keep so many balls in the air, when, as you said, he's being beaten about the face and neck on a regular basis by assorted groups and individuals?

Well, for years I was smart.
I recommend pleasant.

There are several things that intrigue me about the dastardly Ben.

He was an employee's son, yet he becomes the most devious and powerful person on the island.
Just what is the purpose of that large wardrobe behind Ben's wall. There are passports and all sorts of items to walk into another life.
How did Ben amass all that money? Several million at least.
Is Ben part of a power triad with Penny's dad and Sun's dad.
Is it Ben in that coffin, under an assumed name on a mission gone wrong? It would make sense that no one would want to attend.

Just my mind wondering and wandering........

If he made a deal with the Devil-We-Call-Ben (or whomever) to get pregnant Sun off the Island, he could be alive on the Island. Hopefully, he didn't have to give up his life, just give up the chance to live his life with Sun and their child (for now at least) to be sure she'd be safely removed from the Island. I can totally see Jin making a deal like that to save his wife and unborn child, even if he'd never see them again, or think he'd never see them again.

Yes, I agree now. I didnt think of that possibility until we had our tuesday morning lost conference at work Smile

2 - that only 5 of the Oceanic 6 are confirmed

Ben's giving Sayid assassination jobs, so it can't be him can it? Unless the timeline is ridiculously convoluted!

True, Ben is giving Sayid jobs, but Jack's flash forward seems to be the farthest one forward. Kate's happened soon after they got off the island (trial wouldn't sit for a long time, would it?), Sun's was a few months later (5 and a half months after current island time? Juliet said Sun has a month until the middle of her second trimester.), Hurley's was after Sun's because he hadn't committed himself yet and Jack's was at the end because of the amount of time to grow his big beard (plus he told Hurley he was thinking of growing a beard when Hurley committed himself.). I can't pinpoint anything in Sayid's, but I'd say it was before Jack's. So it could be Ben, but most likely not.

When Lost is all said and done, I wonder if it would be fun to watch the whole show re-cut into chronological order.

You know, I was just thiking that the other day. It would be fun. But it would be a helluva job. That said, I bet that someone somewhere in Internet Land has already started!

There will be no enhanced repeat episode tonight. Phooey. I like those pop-ups. Tonight's new episode is the last of the pre-strike episodes, I believe. From what everyone says, the post-strike episodes should move with the speed of a flying bullet because of the need to make up LOST time, you should pardon the pun. Smile
