I guess you can simply say that the island doesn't effect radio transmissions above a certain wavelength, but shouldn't someone ask the question?

Is there a forum where someone has asked the question?

Based on the last episode, it doesn't seem to be a matter of an actual time difference, but a perception of time. Sayid's radio call to Jack was in real time, even though it seemed to be only a few hours later for Sayid and over a day for Jack.

It's likely interference with an organic receptor versus a straight electro-magnetic, mechanical receptor that causes the "distortion" in the perception of time elapsed.

Wow! And I just thought it was just a time warp.

The sad fact is you can't really expect a more sensible explanation from the programme. Whatever reason they give, it'll be some scramble semi scientific sounding guff. Hardcore fanboys will argue endlessly over the possible significance of the inconsistencies and the inaccuracies, seemingly unaware that it was made up on a rainy Tuesday afternoon by some stressed out staff-writer, and isnt actually real science.

I hate that kind of guff. I hope this Faraday character doesnt keep his lips moving too much over the next few weeks.

I love Faraday. I think he's a wonderful character, and the science, well, this is fictional television.

I like the character as well, and physical stuf like the rocket being 31minutes late is interesting. But when people start gabbing about electro-magnetic fields and mechanical yadda yadda yaddas, I just zone out and wait for them to stop babbling.

So far Faraday has avoided this, but I suspect it'll only be a matter of time! Rolleyes

Huzzah! I was right about Widmore. And it looks like I'm right about Widmore racing his daughter to the Island for completely different reasons. Damn, it's nice to finally figure SOMETHING out on that show.

Well, every time you think you've seen Ben at his worst, along comes an episode revealing yet another, even more awful facet of his character and general all-round fiendishness.

Ben OWNS (??!!!) Juliet? How horrific is that! That Island surely is Hell for Juliet. I've come to like Juliet, a lot, and now I'm fearful that she will not survive Ben. I think Jack and Juliet make a far nicer couple than Jack and Kate.

Every time you think Locke might, just might, have learned his lesson about Ben, Ben manages to get Locke to do just what he wants Locke to do, and Locke does it happily - well, maybe not happily, but he does it.

So who is Ben's man on the boat? Could it be someone whom we think might be dead but might have been shifted in time like those bunnies in the video (or whatever was done to those bunnies) so that there appears to be two of them. Maybe one was killed and the other is OK. So maybe Ben's man on the boat is Ethan? Convoluted, I know, but the coming attractions teaser took me there. Though how Ethan could be construed as a friend to our survivors and open the door for them...well, I think I'm getting carried away.

We shall see....
