The most HORRIBLE theory that I've read so far is that the scene with Jack and Kate by the airport runway is the VERY end of the show: the VERY last scene. THAT would PISS ME OFF! I can only hope that isn't true.

I'm listening to a podcast with the creators/producers, Cuse and Lindelof. They confirmed that the scene at the airport runway is NOT the end of the show, that there's much more to the story to tell.

They explained that their version of time and issues around time and how time works on LOST was laid out in the flashback with Desmond and the woman in the antiques shop. The future is fixed, they said, there are no parallel endings.

They confirmed that when people die on the series, they are dead. PS Period. They don't and won't come back to life, but they could reappear in the shows like Jack's dad, whose been in so many flashbacks. But he is dead, they said, dead.

They answered a question I had about Patchy, the Russian who blew the grenade, but who seems so hard to kill, having survived being harpooned in the heart and electrocuted at the pylons. He's dead, too. But he may come back in flashbacks. Nicki and Paulo are also dead as doornails.

They said they have plans for Richard Alpert, (Nestor Carbonell). I really like his character and the actor who plays him. But he became involved in CANE, a show on CBS. I'm not sure if that show is doing well. I hope it doesn't so Carbonell can come back to LOST and play a bigger role, which is what the creators of LOST would love to see happen. Not that they don't wish him well in his new series, but .....

Here's a question for those of you who have HD cable setup with fabulous HD TV's. Did you see the message on Charlie's hand as he put it up to the glass in Hurley's hallucination in the LA police station? It was visible for a second before the glass broke and the room flooded. I had no idea there was a message on his hand; I couldn't see it on my TV. I saw it on abc.com.

The story is essentially told. The story begins with the flashbacks (introduction to the crash). The body of the story can be broken into three parts: 1. Crash, survival; 2. Others/Rescuers/Rescue?; 3. Oceanic Six. The Conclusion involves returning to the island to set things right (which would be the last season, this season being the next to the last season).

So the season finale of this season should be the end of the flashforwards and the return to the island. Then the return to the island would play in real time (no more flashbacks or flashforwards) next season, last season.

It's everything in between the story structure that summons great debate and curiosity, but the structure is there. Seeing how the structure is filled in will be the fun part.

On a different line of thought did anyone catch the Oceanic commercials? There was a blip of a man saying "Don't trust them" or something to that affect. Is it possible Oceanic has something to do with the Dharma Initiative?

The short videos called "Sam's Diary" Day 1-5 are back on abc.com. That's what you saw a blip of in the Oceanic commercials. They bring another group into the story or maybe they're the folks on the frigate. They're interesting.

It was very quick, of course, but I'm sure it was him. However, this could just be because I saw his name in the opening credits and so I was looking for him and my brain told me that I'd found him. Could be though...

I think the person who looked out of the cabin window was Locke. It was his big eyeball that you saw and that scared Hurley.

It's the person who was sitting in the cabin in the rocking chair that I was, and I think that Jim was, referring to. Well, since it's visible, though dark, I'll let the cat out of the bag. It's not really a secret since you could see him pretty clearly, if you knew to look. It's Jack's father sitting in the rocking chair. Seems like Jacob can shape shift, or some such thing, as the writers have confirmed that Jack's father is definitely dead. But time being what it is on the Island, who the hell knows.

Also, if you go back to the episode that introduced Jacob, where Ben and Locke go to meet Jacob in the cabin, listen to the voice that tells Locke, "Help me." Perhaps because I was influenced by seeing Jack's father's in the rocking chair on the last episode, that "help me" voice now sounds to me like Jack's father, though slowed down to a lower timbre.

I was talking to my brother about the last episode, and he didn't pick up the police detective's association to Ana Lucia. He missed that whole interchange, where the detective tells Hurley that he knew somone on Oceanic 815 and asks Hurley if he ever met his former partner, Ana Lucia. Hurley says no.
