I imagine that making a good movie is like painting a car: (and so many other things as well) to do a good job, 90 percent of the work is in the preparation.
They've finally got a script that everyone likes, (If FPW is happy with it, I'd say that it's pretty good) now they have an actor whom everyone seems to like, (even though I've never heard of him before -- though that's not saying much) now they have to fit the rest of the characters around him.
They will probably interview hundreds of actresses and actors to find the right ones to play Gia, Julio, Vicky, Kusum, Kolabati, Abe, Nellie, and so on.
I wouldn't be surprised if the casting takes four or five months. In one sense, I'd almost hope it takes even longer. Finding the "perfect" cast isn't easy, and casting is a really major hurdle.
