This phrase cropped up in Harbingers (don't worry, no spoilers here) and I thought it would be great as an ongoing series title:
The Lone Wolf

Why I didn't think of this one before:
Hey! Jack!

If it was my last name, it would've bit me. Wait, it IS my last name! Well, phonetically it is.

I need a title for the YA Repairman Jack series. It can't include "Repairman" because at 14 he wasn't in the fix-it business. (Yes, he'll get involved in fixing a situation in each book, but he won't see it as part of who he is.)

Because the big arc of the series will be self-discovery -- Jack learning about himself (and the reader learning about Jack) -- as he experiences the events of the novels, "You Don't Know Jack" and "Nobody Knows Jack" have been floated. There might be trademark issues with the first. They're okay and might work, but if one of you can come up with something that smacks us* between the eyes, we'll use it.

Not only that, I'll name a character after the winner.

Remember: this is a name for the series. Each novel will have a separate title.

This board is peopled by a plethora of creative minds. I trust you'll come up with something great.

*(It won't be my decision alone. The title of the series is deemed so important that the editor, the YA division director, and the marketing people will have their say as well.)

Hey Paul;

How's about "South of the City". Since Jack's DOB is going to be 1969, it's going to take place in the early eighties, (the decade of greed) there would be many reasons for Jack’s kind of talent, plus N.Y.C. was at the heart of many big events of the decade. I remember traveling all around the Tri-State area during that time to enjoy the different aspects of Long Island, Westchester and the Jersey Shore, I lived in Matawan at the time prior to buying a home in Griggstown (Princeton mailing address), and went into the City allot.

Going off the "Just Jack" idea. Just(ice) Jack.

I already suggested that one Marc. It's buried in there somewhere. Just proof that great minds think alike. Or Tards...they think alike too.

Dammit! And here I thought it was an original brilliant idea when I woke up at 3 a.m.

"Great minds follow similar paths."

"All fools think alike."

I know it as: "Great minds think alike, fools seldom differ."
