I saw it yesterday. Didn't love it but I enjoyed it. That day-night transition was jarring. WHat I liked was that both sides suffered. Key characters died or lost their powers, (And I hope you all stayed for the post-credits bonus scene).

Darn! I didn't. What did I miss?

The whole movie was basically a slugfest; just trying to show what mutants can do with their powers. I thought Ian McKellen did a great job as Magneto; he fully captured the different aspects of Magneto's personality and mood.

Xavier's "voice" is "heard" from the guy in the hospital bed (the one mentioned in X's earlier lecture). If I remember correctly, he says to the nurse, "Hello, Moira."

The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents. ... The piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality, and of our frightful position therein, that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the light into the peace and safety of a new dark age.

Rats, I missed that, too. I normally stay throughout the credits but I didn't think I'd missing anything with this movie. Ha!

Well, for years I was smart.
I recommend pleasant.

Fox is already in development for a Wolverine movie. As for Xavier coming back I do think it makes his death less interesting. Now any character in the X-Men universe that dies can come back!

From Cinescape:

"There will be no X-Men: 4, but there will be 4 different spin-offs.

"Up first is the WOLVERINE film starring Hugh Jackman. Soon after will come a film based on Magneto (no plot details are yet available).

"Two additional spin-offs are being explored: One which would be based on Emma Frost, a mutant telepath who can transform her skin into diamonds, and another which would focus on Professor X's school.

"We've also talked about doing something on the kids in (Professor X's) school, focusing on their lives, and less of a global adventure for the team," said 20th Century Fox's production president Hutch Parker."

And on a different topic, why wasn't Magneto in prison for his "terrorist" acts? I can't believe the country would let him just walk and let him sit in a park waiting to play chess with someone. That was another annoying part of the film.

Given Magneto's usual mightier-than-thou attitude towards homo sapiens, I think it'd be more cruel to let him walk free than to imprison him. Locking him up would only serve to purport the idea that he was so dangerous we needed protection from him. Without his mutant powers he is no longer a threat; indeed, he has to endure being scorned/attacked by those he once despised.

"Psst! Is that Magneto that sitting on that bench?"

"That feeble-looking old ****er there?"

"Yeah. Let's go throw some rocks at him."

I just saw X3 this weekend, Although I really enjoyed the movie, I thought there were a few things that irritated me. I didn't like Jean in this movie, I thought it she was pretty boring. I couldn't believe certain people were killed off so soon... Other than that, it was good.

I didn't know there was a Wolverine movie coming out, it's not surpising, I read that Wolverine is the most popular comic superhero. He even beat out Superman, and others. I think it's the badass attitude he has...

PS I love the Juggernaut! That was AWSOME!

No X4. There will be spin-offs for certain key characters.
