It, too, started out with complexity and mystery, and was nearly as riveting (to me) as "Lost". But, through five seasons of writer changes, cast changes, etc., it simply became more and more muddled and riddled with contradictions. The last season was an unwatchable non-sequitur, and the show never answered many of the questions it raised. (E:FC basically got lost.

Cool site . . . I almost missed that hidden link at the end of the list on the Active Projects page.
Lost is a terrific show. Right now I'm addicted to it, along with reruns of The X-Files. I love shows with multiple plotlines and characters to keep track of. Episodic series are just not as much fun, IMO. Not saying they can't be outstanding as well--just not as much FUN.

I confess I have never seen an episode of Lost, except for the last 15 minutes of the one discussed here, so I can't comment. Looks like I need to invest in renting last year on DVD and maybe some TiVo like interface, as I'm not around when the shows air.

The DVD set is a wonderful introduction -- without commercials the episodes run 45 min apiece and carry you along at breakneck speed.
