Ooops. My bad. I don't watch either. CYE because of Larry David, and AE makes me uncomfortable.

Hmm, that's interesting, that "Arrested Development" makes you uncomfortable. I take it that's why you don't care for Larry David, either, 'cause "Curb" is utterly squirm inducing. How about the original "The Office" with Ricky Gervais. That's hilarious and some of the most uncomfortable moments in television.

I absolutely LOVE "Arrested Development" and it wins my award for best comedy series of all time. As much as I love "Modern Family," there just isn't anything that can compare to "Arrested Development" for all the reasons Lisa sites in her original post. The series is so rich, multi-layered, and deeply steeped in comedy moments that you can't possibly get it all on the first or even second viewing.

Bob Loblaw, Blah Blah Blah when spoken quickly which it always is, is still used in my house. Hilarious moment.

LOL Maggers! I tried explaining what was funny about "Bob Loblaw" to my mom and she just looked at me like I was insane. One truly needs to watch the show through to appreciate the humor. You can't really describe "a joke" from the show like you could with, say, Friends. Nothing in AD makes sense outside of the AD universe.

Aint that the truth. I was telling someone about Gob trying to throw the letter into the ocean havin me in tears and they couldn't see the humor at all. Or try explaining the crane scene.

That's one of my favorite scenes ever. GOB cracks me up so bad. I also love his "Final Countdown" routine.

OK, at the next GU we need to rent or have someone bring the AD series. We wouldn't have time to see it all, but it would be tear-inducing with rib-cracking laughter echoing throughout the hotel.

Liam just added his AD favorite ... there's a recurring scene of people walking in a dejected fashion, heads down, trudging dismally, with the Charlie Brown theme song playing. In the first instance, the scene was highlighted by a glimpse in the background of a dog lying on its back on top of its kennel.

Yes!! Hahaha. I just saw one of those the other day. I'm watching it through again with Hollis--he loves it (probably the complexity of the humor that appeals to him).

Spot on, Maggers. I don't like to see someone being taken advantage of (yucky construction - sorry) and that seemed to be the thrust of all the early AD episodes. I never came back. And Gervais's The Office made me squirm rather than laugh. He's brilliant in his ability to do that, but it's not a feeling I'm seeking out. But Curb...I simply hate Larry David - or at least the character he plays. If he's playing himself, then I hate him.
