Oh, and BTW:
John Goodman as "Abe"????? What were you thinking? He didn't even make a good "King Ralph". What a joke. Plus the fact that he's not jewish.
So he's not Jewish . . . so what!
Does an actor HAVE to be Catholic to portray the Pope?
Do you object to a Lakota Indian playing the part of a Mohican? (Russell Means in Last Of The Mohicans.)
Or an Andes Indian actor playing the part of a Cheyenne and later an Apache Medicine Man? (Pato hoffman in Cheyenne Warrior and Geronimo.)
A Cherokee Indian playing a Pawnee, a Huron, and an Apache? (Wes Studi in Dances With wolves, The Last Of The Mohicans, and Geronimo.)
Or a Canadian actor of The Six Nations playing a Lakota? (Graham Greene in Dances with Wolves.)
Robbie Coltrain (Hagrid in the Harry Potter movies) could do an excellent job of playing Abe as well -- and he's not Jewish either.
Now that I think about it, Jewish actors play non-Jewish parts all the time: For example, the British actor Jason Issacs has played the parts of a British Cavalry Officer, (Colonel Tavington in The Patriot) an evil wizard, (Lucius Malfoy in the Harry Potter movies) a Major in the Marine Corps (Windtalkers) and numerous other parts. And how about:
1. Lauren Bacall
2. Tom Bosley
3. Tony Curtis
4. Peter Falk
5. Ross Martin
6. Marilyn Monroe
7. Paul Newman
8. Peter Sellers
8. Rod Serling
10. Dyan Cannon
11. Elliot Gould
12. Leonard Nimoy
13. William Shatner
14. Elizabeth Taylor
15. James Caan
16. Kirk Douglas
17. Michael Douglas
18. Harrison ford
19. Scott Glenn
20. Sara Michelle Gellar
If Jews can play non-Jews, why can't a non-Jew play the part of a Jew?
