One other thing...

I really liked the way the Mr. Vivino storyline played out. Not just that I agree Jack did the right thing, but that Jack learned even doing the right thing doesn't necessarily result in the standard issue happy-ending.

I like that we saw Jack really thinking about this. This early "fix" is obviously one that is going to be very important in shaping the man we eventually know as Repairman Jack.

And this is a big part of why I like Jack so much. He's not just the typical good guy action hero. He's a complex, complicated guy. How neat for us to get a glimpse at where some of that complexity came from.

As speculation, I wonder if it (the monster) could taste Jacks O-DNA.

I have no doubt that that is precisely why the monster released him. Is that monster from another story? It seemed so familiar but my memory upgrade hasn't arrived yet so I'm left to stumble through the dark.

The last Nightworld will have some changes from the Borderlands version. I don't do this to sell more books, it's just that the story is evolving as I tell it. I mean, Weezy didn't even exist when I did the previous revision, now she's a player.

And that's why I held off buying the Borderlands edition Smile - I knew there would be additional changes.

That´s what i thought too, i think jacks fahter is carrying the o-dna to and was therefore invited to the lodge.

And the monster, think it was a "she" (becaus of the brought that frisbee and the phaser to cody)and was somehow connected to jack (o-dna) and maybe one or the last original kicker.

can´t wait till the next book... but first, RJ#14

Sure! The entity tasted Jack's o-dna and thought, "Uh-oh--family! I might be a bad monster, but I'm not a damn cannibal!"

I hadn't made the connection between o-dna and Tom being invited to join the Lodge. Good thinkin' thar, Patrice!
