He's very popular in the UK, after his appearances in XMen and The Proposal all the girls in my office know who he is.

I accidentally dropped a load of worthless change in the street. I was going to just leave it there but a burly policeman lumbered towards me and said, "You'd better pick that up, son."

I hate coppers.

Ok, now go and convince everyone in Europe, Asia, etc.

I think the point was, there is a difference between known/recognizable and being a big box-office draw.

The movies you mention were not "Ryan Reynolds" movies for most people...they were a Hugh Jackman-Wolverine movie and a Sandra Bullock-romantic comedy. Ryan Reynolds was just "in" them and, for the most part didn't suck.

No movie, since Van Wilder, has been a "Ryan Reynolds" movie.

Maybe Green Lantern will hit big and RR will "arrive."

What about Channing Tatum for Jack? He did a decent job as Duke in GI Joe.

Not a bad choice at all...and with the speed that production is going at, he'll be 33 by the time filming starts (he's 29 this year).

Does he have big box-office draw?

The biggest problem I have with the "international box-office appeal" argument is that the only actors that have that are NOT average-looking, which we all know Jack should be.

This! If Jack was supposed to look like Brad Pitt... ok. But he's not. :p

None. The light from the burning monastery is more than sufficient.

I actually really like Brad Pitt as an actor... nothing to do with the way he looks, I don't find him that attractive. But I've liked him as an actor since Seven.

When she sees Brad on the screen she throws things.

I just back away...and turn off the DVD.
