That's another affirmative. A few brews couldn't hurt as well.

Jack is the ghost in the machine and the machine is in ruins after NIGHTWORLD. I'd rather write about how he becomes that ghost.
early Jack stories would be great, I for one would love to read how he came to be who he is, besides what we already know from his mom's death and stuff. Abe, one of my favorite characters, is always fun to know about too.
Got my name on the waiting list for Ground Zero, hopefully it'll get to our library soon but you never can tell here.
I read the original Nightworld a few months back. When I read any book I throw myself right into it, think about it for hours and days after I've read sections, work it all out in my head how things are going and how they'll turn out ... Nightworld really got me going! It was such a page turner yet so disturbing at the same time ... it'll be interesting to read the rewrite, I'm very much looking forward to that.
I'll be sad to see the end of the RJ stories, but anyone who was paying attention knew they wouldn't go on forever so kudos to you for sticking to your guns and staying with the plan.

And I, for one, would love to read about how Jack becomes that ghost. Heck yes, more classic fixes, please! Smile

lexator222 Wrote:Well, I am truely sorry to hear that. Well, then, when you rewrite "Nightworld", make sure that you kill off Gia, and Abe, and finally make sure that Jack eats a bullet, that is the only way to kill off someone like that! Since you are so dead set in your decision, I think that my life would be better concentrating on other pursuits. I should just burn all of my R J books, since it is painfully clear that you will NOT allow any movies to be made (they should have started over 12 years ago) and it is futile to even think about the young Jack novels, they just don't have the same flavor as the R J series. Nothing lasts forever, but this is just a copout!

I'm outta here.

Sorry you got Potter spoiled for you (but your cursing of it was pretty funny).

saynomore Wrote:Secondly, fpw doesn't control the movie industry; I waited a long time only to be disappointed by The Keep movie, and I've been waiting ever since for ANY fpw book to be filmed.

No kidding, right? Paul has done all an author can do to get his novel to the big screen. He is The Man but even he can't force La-La Land to behave rationally.

saynomore Wrote:Fourthly, the post-Nightworld world would consist of brooms and elbow grease. After what humanity just went through, I doubt the world would turn Mad Max; it would turn Greenpeace. Boring.

Hahahahahahahaha! I believe you are correct, sir. Big Grin

This. A thousand-fold.

It just goes to show that you can't please all of the people all of the time. Hey I was pissed at the end of the Soprano's but I wouldn't destroy all my DVD's.

Just wanted to throw in my vote for YES PLEASESmile!!! I TOTALLY understand why no RJ books after NW,but theres a lot of us who love this world and these characters and will never tire of reading about them. Give us Prequel-Jack...give us Preschool Jack(when the bully steals your milk before naptime, and the teacher doesnt see or care, who else can you call?),hell give us the early adventures of Abe,running guns and studying pre-vedic dialects while having relationship problems with his daughter....you write it,we'll read it!!!

I second that.

Abe's raised eyebrows caused furrows in his extended forehead. "Five in twelve hours?"
"Oh, and like you've never had a cranky day?"

I hope I won't have to buy yet another copy of NIGHTWORLD (I'm going to buy the expanded version as I have the US and British 1st edition HC)) but there is so much to write about his early years. Now also don't forget another hero in the wings: Father Joe the Dhamphire hero in "Midnight Mass". Also, if that can be a series,it could even include a woman with a dog before and after the vamps turn up!
