I know it's a little bit unconventional, but you know who I think could totally pull it off?
Laurence Fishburne. He just has this commanding presence in his movies. Even that horrible movie with the Baldwin brother from like 10 years ago...don't remember the name. Where they're escaped prisoners and they ride around on Ducatis? Heck, even when he was 'Larry' Fishburne in Cadence, he had this commanding presence.
But what do I know? I work at a nuthouse.

Fled, starring Fishburn and Baldwin.
Fishburn's 47, the same age as Spacey and Glen; perhaps someone younger would be be equally good. Will Smith is 40 this year...he'd be an acceptable choice.
On another front however, while I do not doubt their ability to play the role well (Fishburn and Smith are two of my favourite actors), my gut says that an African American actor portraying the personification of evil on Earth is a little too Mississippi Burning, for me.
I know you weren't going there, but certain public figures that like to frame things based on race rather than ability could have a field day with that continuity change.

I think Tom Hiddleston would do a good job.
Naveen Andrews would be interesting. Alan Rickman in his heyday would have been perfect. I took one look at Snape, lank hair and all, and thought Molasar.
