Amazing. I was thinking the same thing last night.

Or how about:

Just kidding. Smile

And the book shouldn't have an ISBN number. Wink

Kenji Wrote:That's great news!!! I like Companion book. I have Stephen King's and Dean Koontz's Companion books. King, Koontz, Wilson.....definitely greatest 3 authors in this world! Big Grin

Kenji,

Your list is close to mine, although I'll have to put Vince Flynn before Stephen King, so for me it's:

1. FPW
2. Dean Koontz
3. Vince Flynn
4. Stephen King
5. Robert Ludlum

This is fiction of course. For non-fiction, it's

1. James Madison
2. Thomas Jefferson
3. Ludwig Von Mises
4. Adam Smith
5. Lao Tzu
6. Sun Tzu

I'm excited.

Abe's raised eyebrows caused furrows in his extended forehead. "Five in twelve hours?"
"Oh, and like you've never had a cranky day?"

saynomore Wrote:I had to look up Hank Wagner to see why he was chosen. I see that he did THE STEPHEN KING UNIVERSE with two other authors. And some interviews and such. This I found in a Google search (forgive me, Webby).

My question is: Don't we have a board member who knows RJ like the back of his hand? Didn't said board member do the FAQ section of this page? Isn't this member the ultimate RJ geek in terms of RJ knowledge and RJ books (including hard to find editions)?

I speak of Aphew, of course. Sure, we have our tiny grudges, but I don't begrudge him his RJ expertise. Maybe Hank Wagner (whose NAME is surely needed to please the publishers) could use some help in his research. After all, THE STEPHEN KING UNIVERSE needed three researchers. I'd hate to see THE REPAIRMAN JACK COMPANION not get the proper geek treatment it deserves.

Just my two cents. No change needed, thanks. Smile

P.S. In either case, put me down for two copies of the book. Boy, I bet that 18 months at the earliest would fly right by with two people working on the book. JMHO.

How do we know Hank and Aphew are not one and the same?

Contacted Hank Wagner. For Aphew's eyes only. PM me and I'll give you the details. Of course, that's if you're interested in working on the RJ Companion with HW. No reply and I'll butt out.

A Repairman Jack Companion, huh? I'm definitely interested!

But I also wonder how this will impact the RJ Wiki that I've been planning for so long to get going. If I'm really serious about it (obviously so far I haven't been, since my prototype hasn't even been worked on by me in quite a while), I need to dedicate myself to getting it up and running. Then, the RJ community can start to get involved and begin filling in much of the data.

The biggest hurdle I face is customizing the wiki engine enough to integrate my SPAMEL (SPoiler-Avoidance-MEchanism-utiLity) tool. I think this feature is so key because it allows users to enjoy the wiki without being exposed to information that they did not yet know about. Of course, they will be able to opt-in to a spoiler-laden view as well, if they choose to.

So, I either need to get the RJ Wiki restarted or this RJ Companion will have to satisfy my "look-up" needs for RJ data.
