I've often wondered if these numbers have won any sizable lottery anywhere in this country or Australia.

I read somewhere that they have been used many thousands of times in a variety of lotteries since LOST began, but I don't think there's been any winners.

I thought this episode wasn't a patch on last week's, but it was still okay. I guess there will always have to be 'loose ends' episodes and that's what I think this one was. Of course, there were big reveals, like Kate playing Mum to Aaron, and the Continuing Saga of Wiley Miles, but I think the main purpose was to explain away the reason why Kate isn't behind bars. Not essential to the main story, but essential enough nonetheless.
One thing I did wonder about was the conversation between Locke and Ben at the beginning, when Locke brings Ben the eggs and the book and Ben says he's already read it. Locke says something along the lines of 'You never know what you missed first time around'. A nod from the writers to those that rewatch for all the hidden secrets, or a hint that there's something a rewatch might help us find in this episode?
And why the hell are they all sharing houses?! Sawyer made it quite clear he didn't like Hurley as a roomie, so why doesn't he just move to another house?! (Not in the top 10 of Lost mysteries, admittedly, but it bugged me all the same!)

And is Kate really as morally skanky as she appeared to be in this episode? Her conversation with Jack after she was released creeped me out. She told him that until he was OK with her baby he couldn't be with her, in any way, even for coffee.

I think that this is a step in the right direction for Kate. So far it's always been her against the world, always putting herself first. To basically say that until Jack is okay with her child (however that may have come about!) then she isn't interested, is what most decent parents would say, isn't it? At a stretch, I would agree that it's odd that she wouldn't even go for a coffee, but given her and Jack's history, I assume that Kate is avoiding a situation that might develop into something more.
And remember, we don't know why Jack is so unwilling to see Aaron - his own nephew, don't forget! - there could be any number of reasons why Kate wants Jack to accept Aaron in order for her to start cosying up to him.

Aah feh, you're right. It is fun and I can't stop, poppycock or not.

I think that we will see a Desmond flashback before long, maybe involving his time in military prison. I think he'll make it to a boat, maybe Naomi's freighter, maybe not. Maybe on that "rescue" ship Desmond will run into someone he knew from his time in military prison in Scotland, someone we'll have seen in the flashback.

I have not read about this anywhere else. This is just a guess on my part, and we know how well guesses go on this show.


Here's another thought. Kate's agreement with the DA included her staying put within the state of California. If she should try to get back to the Island, which she is dead set against at this point because of Aaron, she could be thrown back in the clink. It would take an awful lot, I think, to cause Kate to change her mind.

I'm listening to an audio podcast with Damon Lindelof and Carleton Cuse, creators, writers and producers of the show.

They stated unequivocally that Michael, aka Harold Perrineau, has NOT yet been seen in Season 4 in spite of his being listed in the credits every week. They said the listing of the cast is a contractual thing and has to be done for legal reasons.

They also stated, as I have mentioned a few times in this thread, that the Dharma training video involving bunnies at the Orchid Station is very important. It has not been shown on air, but it can be found at abc.com if you search. I'm pleased that what I surmised by watching that video may be accurate.

Woo hoo! My understanding of LOST is not entirely lost. It's nice to get validation every now and again.



Here's another train of thought. ALIAS was a JJ Abrams show. He co-created LOST. I never watched ALIAS, so someone can help me with this. Wasn't there some sort of surprise involvement of a super secret government agency in that show? I may be all wrong in my explanation of it, but I was thinking that could also be the case in LOST. Ben may be working for such a super secret government agency, maybe even the same one (that would be a hell of a crossover) and that's why he has access to so much information and so much money. That is just my own little idea; I haven't read it anywhere else.

That's it, though the version I saw on abc.com seemed to show more chaos in the lab when the second rabbit appeared, sort of like a minor earthquake.

I'm editing this post to add a comment about Kate, Aaron and the bunnies. Could be that Kate's Aaron may be Aaron #2, with Claire's Aaron being Aaron #1, just like there was one bunny and then there were two. Could be the reason Kate is in no hurry to return to the Island. Could be the reason why Jack seemed uncomfortable with Kate's Aaron.
