I've never bet on sports. I earned my drinking and drug money in high school shooting pool, though. Long time ago.

We call it the taint because 'taint your balls and 'taint your @sshole.

They passed an old woman who was just opening the door of a brown Cadillac. An old man was already sitting in the passenger seat. The car had a personalized plate with the letters “J-U-S-P-R-A-Y”.
“That stuff work?” Israel said to her.
“‘Scuse me?” the little old woman said, clutching her keys.
“The spray. Does it keep them away?”
“Keep who away?” She looked confused.
“I gotcha.” Israel gave her a conspiratorial wink.

Over here, "arse" is pretty much meaningless silly word that is never ever used except on BBC America, perhaps, or in a novel written by a British author. It just sounds funny when someone actually uses it, and no one does. It's not even close to a dirty word that needs a hyphen, at least not here. Ass, as in "she has a nice ass", well that sounds normal in American English. Adding that "r", just plain sounds strange to our ears.

I can't explain exactly why, though.

I scanned some of this thread, but honestly there's so many suggestions and I'm feeling a bit lazy for cross checking 17 pages. Smile Hence, I have no idea if any of these have already been suggested. Some are not strictly in keeping with the sword motif, but perhaps with the spirit of the synopsis (and Jack) given at the front.

OLD WOUNDS (probably my favorite)

BUSHIDO

TEMPERED EDGE (or TEMPERED EDGES)

Unsheathed

Apologies if this title has already been posted. It came to me in a dream last night.

I just finished Bloodline...i see where Taint would be so relevant for the next book. BTW, loved Bloodline.
