KRW Wrote:To tell you the truth, I like Kings "Cell". For me it was one of his better books.
I am enjoying it. It's the first time for years that a book of his (or should I say, a premise of his) has got my attention. But reading just the foreword of 'Peabody' dragged me back into the FPW world and then I couldn't escape.
I will return to 'Cell' just not until I've finished 'Peabody'.

I wondered that too. I also wondered why he was singled out.

I just finished it and you've done it again, gave us a great story. It's been years since I last read Freakshow, so the story was practically like new to me. I had fun trying to separate the old from the new. Much of the new material was obvious, but I wondered how much subtle tweaking you did with the original material. One thing I don't recall being in the original was George's birthday present and I'm wondering if 'it' and Ginger will work their way into the story again.

I loved Bramble and George's idea to use him to escape from Eldridge-has he been in another story?-was gruesome, but excellent. You've got a thing for eyes apparently. And sad endings too. You got a problem with happy endings? :p

Soon as I've finished King's 'Cell' (the first book of his that I've read in about fifteen years!!!) I'll be all over it.

Not inscribed, just plain old signed. I guess I'm just too impatient to wait for an inscription. When the books come out I JUST HAVE TO HAVE THEM NOW!!!!

Loved the book though. I'd never read Freak Show so it was all new to me. Will discuss further when more people have read it.

I just finished my copy. It took a while for me to get to it, but I like reading it when I have a nice chunk of quiet time, which isn't often. Loved it!

Great characters and story all around. The "character" that really struck a chord with me, being an Uncle Scrooge fan, is the Beagle Boys! What fun ... big doglike guys that don't talk. Perfect. Thanks, FPW!
