OK, finished BLOODLINE in a day. Rip roaring good reading. Thanks, Paul.
SPOILERS...............for BLOODLINE, THE TOUCH, and some parts of THE ADVERSARY CYCLE.....
Jonah worked in a slaughterhouse and loved knocking those poor cattle to death. I just finished BLOODLINE but can't remember if it was Hank or Jeremy who also worked in a slaughterhouse. Nifty...like father like son.
It's been a long time since I read the Adversary Cycle, so my memory is sketchy. Wasn't there a young child, a young boy, a toddler, who either didn't speak or who saw things? Did he have The Touch? Was he just in THE TOUCH or was he also in NIGHTWORLD? I have a memory of the child and his mother traveling to some place on Long Island, most likely Monroe, as the world is falling apart, so I guess it must be in NIGHTWORLD. Chew wasps figured in the scene as did the doctor (now in a wheelchair) from THE TOUCH. Geez, guess I have to read the AC again, and soon. But I was wondering if it could be Dawn's child, yet the age of the toddler doesn't fit. Mostly I remember that the child was very, very special in some way. As I said, I think, if I remember correctly, the child could see things, much as Jonah could.
I have to say, probably for the umpteenth time, that no one writes a thriller like F. Paul Wilson. No one can keep me on the edge of my seat and keep me up at night compelled to find out what happens next (not an easy feat the older I get) like FPW. There's just a quality to Paul's writing and his extraordinary imagination that I haven't found anywhere else. We're lucky to have you, Paul.
I've always loved the fact that FPW has no compunction about killing off characters that we've come to care about. Their deaths always advance the story, so they die for good reason. But it is chilling.
Waaaay long ago, when the cover for BLOODLINE was first revealed, I said it looked to me like DNA gone awry. I thought perhaps it was Rakoshi DNA. I wasn't far off. Neat.

Way cool, Paul.
Ahh....I'm basking in the afterglow of having completed the latest F. Paul Wilson Repairman Jack book. The glow will only last so long, though. I'll be needing another fix soon.
P.S. Apropos of nothing...
I recently finished a nifty book called HAVOC by Jack du Brul. I've read all his books and have enjoyed every one of them. HAVOC features a super secret group of men called Janisaries, who've been in existence for hundreds and hundreds of years to protect a great secret. They are skilled fighters and are ready to die for their cause. They were startlingly similar to the yeniceries of HARBINGERS. Just thought I'd share that.
