No, because he showed up later in the AC.

The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents. ... The piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality, and of our frightful position therein, that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the light into the peace and safety of a new dark age.

But when FPW wrote the tomb it wasn't part of the AC - that only came into being with Reborn. Prior to that, the first 3 books were all independent novels.

Very true. FPW left the reader wondering. I, myself, always gave Jack life when I finished the book. But I was never sure until I logged onto the INTERNET the first time and found FPW already had Jack in "Hosts". (What a great day that was , I'll tell ya!)

Yes, I had to laugh about that too. I can't wait to see what they think when they read some of the other books.

One of them said this
In my opinion, THIS is why The Tomb is an exemplary book. It is also why I am glad I read the Tomb before the others came out.
I have mentioned this board before, I want to wait until they have read a few more books before really pumping it though, I had a couple things spoiled by reading the threads. It's really better after finishing the series.

As far as someone asking about Rakoshi being a real India myth, check out the Wikipedia section on "Rakshasa":

Other thoughts:
* Did Anthony change his opinion of Jack by the end of the book?

Thanks for the Link Marc, I'll be sure to relay it. Thanks again to everyone for the help, I'm really pleased with the turnout of the disscussion. I doubt Anthony changed his mind, he's pretty stuck in his ways. Jack could save the world and he'll just want Jack to obey the law:p
Wasn't Jack in the original Nightworld? I thought I had read that he made a brief appearance. I haven't read it yet, so I don't know.

Why do you call it The Tomb if there's no tomb?

(Sorry). I had to do that... (we're tombed!).

Yes, Jack is in the original Nightworld but it's more than just a brief appearance. He's one of the central characters.

In the revised Nightworld, there is more of Jack and some other RJ series characters, but Jack was always an important part of the story.

I think that was the publisher's ah-deer, Auskar. If memory serves, Paul's title was RAKOSHI.

I know that. That's why I added the joke at the end, hoping to make clear I knew that. But someone new to a RJ Tomb Q&A might not know that.
