Sort of a SPOILER, but I consider it just a TEASER...

Miami has a newly discovered serial killer, far more accomplished than the Ice Truck Killer. They've discovered the hidden bodies. Lots and lots and lots of dismembered bodies. The killer has been operating in Miami for a very very long long time, and the cops don't know who it is.

But...

...Dexter knows..
(excellent episode tonight, by the way).
I think I know who the killer is......Smile

Anyone else watching Dexter this season think Michael C. Hall is just knocking it out of the park? I am amazed every single week by him.

** SPOILER WARNING ** - The conversation beyond this point contains possible spoilers for season 2 of Dexter. Proceed at your own risk!!!

Michael C. Hall is EXTRAORDINARY! I was going to do Holloween as a Dexter victim, with the saran wrap and the board behind my back and the sliced cheek and everything. Wound up wearing devil horns instead (so much simpler), but wouldn't a Dexter victim have been the bomb?!

I am very concerned that Dexter has moved so far from Harry's code. I think that is his biggest problem. The part of the books that I love best is Harry and Dexter's relationship. Harry is a wonderful character, though in the series they have fleshed him out a little too much for my taste.

I am scared silly by the thought of Dexter getting caught, and that damn Doakes looks like he's got Dexter by the short hairs. The way the series is moving looks like DEXTER won't have a season 3.

Season 2 of the series has gone far astray from the books. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but, as I said, they've moved far afield from Harry's code. Without Harry's code to guide him, Dexter will be in trouble. And he's in deep trouble by the look of it.

What happened to his latest victim that he left in the lurch, so to speak? How unthinkable that Dexter would not wrap things up neatly as he always does, quite literally. Harry would have had a fit.

So, Season 3...will there be a Season 3?

I was watching the newest episode last night and then it got to the end and I yelled out, "NO!"

It was too soon to be over. This year is way better than last year.

Maggers, a Dexter victim would have been an AWESOME costume. LOL! I wish you'd done it so we could have seen pics. Big Grin

I agree about Harry's code (and Lila sure isn't helping anything), but I think and hope that Dex will get his act together soon.

From what I've read online, the series has been picked up for a third season - so I'm not sure where they are going with Doakes, but I don't think we'll be seeing Dexter heading to the slammer. Wink

There's always next year!

He seemed to be heading that way at the end of last night's episode. Did he look absolutely SCARY or what when he was confronting Lila? Fabulous.

Much as I hated to see what was done to Doakes in the second book, I liked that it finally got him off Dexter's back. Yet he was still clomping around in the third book. Doakes is like shit on your shoe...you just can't get it off.Big Grin

Yes! That look and the one where he was in Doakes' face last week or week before and said, "I own you." Seriously, why aren't people throwing acting awards at this man?!

Yup. LOL. The clomping and glaring had me in stitches. What a horrible thing to be laughing at, but I couldn't help myself. Wink

Noelie, here's a thought... SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS

Do you suppose that somehow our brilliant boy pins everything on Doakes? The series has been setting Doakes up for something, with the constant references to his Special Ops training, his shooting of the other former Special Ops agent, and most of all, his obsession with Dexter. Doakes obtained Dexter's blood drop treasure box by breaking and entering into Dexter's home, which is decidedly illegal. Those blood drops can't be used as evidence.

Oooh...this is all so exciting. I can't wait until the next episode. Is that the FINAL episode? These Showtime seasons are way too short.

I really do think that Doakes is gonna take the fall for this, whether it's by Dexter's doing or not. By that I mean, maybe Doakes will get caught with the treasure box and try to explain that they are Dexter's, but nobody will believe him because of his Dexter obsession.

And yeah, according to Showtime's website, that does look like the final episode of the season. They are WAY too short!! How will I survive until next season?!

EDIT: I just ran across something that says there are 4 more episodes, so now I'm not sure.
