I've read the first two books (which DO differ from the series, by the way) and am waiting for the third one (which should come out soon). I really (really!) like this series, though I didn't think there was a chance in hell that I would. I mean, who wants to see a series about a serial killer? It sounds like a downer.

But it's not.

So after three weeks of the series had gone by, I got curious and watched it on Showtime In Demand (sort of like having the shows on your premium channels available whenever you want to watch them, AS IF you had recorded them on your DVR).-

I loved it.

So I watched the entire series religiously.

I want more Dexter.

I think Showtime in Demand is available if you have Showtime through cable. As far as I know it isn't available on satellite dish, which is what I have.

On Demand is only available through cable providers, not satellite.

There was just a commerical on last night for Six Feet Under and when they showed Michael C. Hall, I looked at my brother and whined, "I miss Dexter." (complete with pout). How can I miss a serial killer? I'm not sure, but I can't wait for more Dexter.

How many vikings does it take to change a light bulb?

None. The light from the burning monastery is more than sufficient.

May the Norse be with you.

FWIW?

I can't wait for Dexter 3. LOVE HIM! Can't wait to see the relationship blossom with the young son of his fiance. Did they get married yet? I can't remember.

I recommend pleasant.

Yes, they're married (I think). Definitely engaged.

Sorry for the shorthand, I'm injured and my right hand is the problem area, so I'm cheating.

LawDawg is confusing the books with the show. Dexter and his girlfriend were not engaged as of the end of last season on Showtime.

Oops. Nevermind. LawDAWG was talking about the BOOKS. My bad.

**********SPOILER***************

In the books, Dexter accidentally becomes engaged to his girlfirend. It is kind of a funny incident, actually, and I anticipate that they won't be able to resist including it in next season's escapades.

Dexter become's "Harry" to his girlfriend's son (who is definitely troubled) -- at least that is what you expect from the way the second novel ends.

I mean, if it weren't for the humor, Dexter just wouldn't be Dexter.

Poor baby! Get that hand healed. I take it you're a righty? I'll have to wait until you feel better to learn what FWIW stands for. Wink

I remember the engagement scene now, how it was not exactly meant to be but happened anyway. And I do think they are married. As I said earlier, the relationship between Dexter and his now-step-son will be very interesting to watch.

Feel better, LD.
