Yeah, too bad I can't credit for it. But the name itself is associated with the worst nightmares any author has ever given me so I figure if I say it enough I'll desensitize myself to it and I can go back to having nightmares of my teeth falling out instead of little Da.......er, um, for those who haven't read "Reprisal" I shant say more.

Cthulhu for President!

Why vote for a lesser evil? I can think of none better than the great old one, who should return from his slumber to take over the U.S. government and make this country a whole hell of a lot better as the leader of our executive branch. Or destroy it and drive everyone insane, kill us all, or something really nasty! Remember, Cthulhu for President, why vote for the lesser of two evils? Wink

Reprisal sound absolutly terriftying. I am intimidated, but am looking forward to it.

Sara Lom...isn't that from Hosts? (Don't own it, can't check).

Yeah, from your response I had been wondering if you had read Reprisal. Paul has often stated that the particular scene was (one of?) the hardest scene he has ever had to write.

The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents. ... The piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality, and of our frightful position therein, that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the light into the peace and safety of a new dark age.

Dur...I do have Hosts after all. Dang Alzhiemers!

I remember coming across it when I was flipping through Hosts to see how many times Gia had met Kate (from another thread). If I remember it right, Jack is making the connection between Sal Roma and Sara Lom, realizing that the Otherness has something to do with the Unity. I'd look for it in regards to Kate's doctor or the communications with the CDC. There are a lot of pages in between Kate's dinner with Jack and when Jack recovers from being sick. Good luck.

I'll flip through my copy as well.

I gotcha covered. No, you're thinking Ms. Aralo from "All The Rage" who is mentioned in other books, although a certain Sara Lom did live in a certain Menelaus Manor now inhabited by a certain Lyle and Charlie Kenton that used to have big nickel hilts inlaid in the basement walls that were imported from a Keep in Romainia by a certain....hey, where's that Compendium? Everything is related BTW. Just like no more coincidences.

You're right, Mrs. Aralo is who I'm thinking of...her name appears on page 261 of the paperback edition of Hosts. She was the one who signed in and contaminated the Adeno virus cultures.

So she appears in All the Rage as well? I didn't remember that one.

She was the one who called Monnet to see the Rakoshi I think, or that was Dr. Roma.
