My partner and I enjoyed this movie, too. I like cheerful nihilism. Wink

Nihilism? That's one of those words that people use and I can never figure out what they mean by it. Of course, I'm from Kentucky.

Different meanings of Nihilism:
  • An extreme form of skepticism that denies all existence.
  • A doctrine holding that all values are baseless and that nothing can be known or communicated.
  • Rejection of all distinctions in moral or religious value and a willingness to repudiate all previous theories of morality or religious belief.
  • The belief that destruction of existing political or social institutions is necessary for future improvement.
  • A diffuse, revolutionary movement of mid 19th-century Russia that scorned authority and tradition and believed in reason, materialism, and radical change in society and government through terrorism and assassination.
  • A delusion, experienced in some mental disorders, that the world or one's mind, body, or self does not exist.

Nicely formatted post! I esp like the bullet points in the grey font! I think I may have to steal that idea at a later stage. . . .

I guess 'apathy' is closer to what I wanted? The idea that everything is shit and the good guys are just the people who havent been found out yet, but fuck it and grin. I get so worked up about so many things but feel so powerless to do anything about them that after a while the only way to calm down is to say 'fuck it' and just do the best you can for yourself. That's what I liked about this film. Wink
