Chucky v Jaws

Pinhead v Michael Meyers- now this one would be interesting, but apparently, some guy in the chain doesn't want to relinquish control of Pinhead to do the movie so that one will never be.

I even heard there's going to be a Freddy v Jason II.
I heard that Freddy Vs. Jason was actually not that bad.

Anybody see it?

The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents. ... The piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality, and of our frightful position therein, that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the light into the peace and safety of a new dark age.

Surprisingly it wasn't that bad. I stopped watching either Freddy or Jason by the 3rd movie each. Started getting really stupid with no story or plot. My son loved it, but then he is only 12.

It was the blood sample she gave in Alien 3, the one that told her she was infected.

Damn! I forgot about that. I don't know enough about genetics to fill a tea spoon, but can you clone a human and a parasitic alien from just blood cells? I mean, ha ha, this is science fiction, so you can do anything, right?

Yes, you can, including cloning dinosaurs from the blood in a mosquito who bit the dinosaur a gazillion years ago and then had the misfortune to get stuck in amber. Big Grin

Years ago my mother used to say to me... "In this world, Elwood, you can be oh so smart or oh so pleasant."
Well, for years I was smart.
I recommend pleasant.
You may quote me.

No!, bad Anders! No, no, no! Stinging slaps on both wrists! In sf, if you're worth your salt, you =cannot= "do anything." You stay within the limits of current =science.= Fantasy, well that's another kettle of dragons... :p

Ah, but Mike, you missed the ironic humor in my statement.

The first two films are classics. The original started the template for all monster films since. You know the whole creature-kills-off-everyone-one-at-a-time formula. The second film is a adrenaline pumping thrillfest that ranks as my fave of the series (and fave films of all time).

I may be in a minority but I really dig Alien 3. While the film isn't perfect and takes time to get going it has some nice, moody visuals and a great ending. Foreshadows the great talent of director David Fincher (Seven, Fight Club) to come.

Alien Resurrection has some nice visuals/ concepts (hybrid alien/human), fun moments (the underwater scene) but it never progresses the series or lives up to it's potential. And Winona Ryder is the most unconvincing film robot ever.

If your a fan, I recommend buying the Quadrilogy set as it's got DAYS worth of extra stuff to look at if your big film buff.

My favorite is definitely Alien. I think Aliens is a little overrated. It is good, but in my mind not even close to the first. I like 3. I may like it as much as 2. I think my attraction to the third has something to do with some sick attraction to a good looking bald woman breaking bad. I know everybody seems to think Aliens is the best and I'm in the minority. I love Alien and I think the rest of them are good followups. I put Alien up there with all-time great Horror/Sci-Fi films. I put Aliens and Alien3 with the real good action films, but not near the top of that list.
