fpw Wrote:Wow. That looks lke a prime candidate for Bad Movie Night. Into the queue it goes!

Bad Movie Night, eh?? IF you can find these you are sure to be (dis)pleased.

The Abomination - the Doc's acting alone will have you in stitches. A truly terrible film that will crack you up.

Brain Damage - (from the creator of Basket Case and Frankenhooker) A parasite latches onto a guys neck and offers to inject him with it's fluid giving him the ultimate high. But in order for him to keep getting the injections he has to feed the parasite his favorite grub - human brains. (comedy/horror)

Some friends and I rented these a number of years ago on our bad movie/bad beer night. The bad beer was more gut-wrenching (literally) than the movies.

This peaked my curiousity so I did a little research ......

Lion's Gate Films has really picked-up over the past 52wks - they're doing a great job marketing so-so flicks. Betcha thats why 'Alone in The Dark' looked like it was worth watching.

I didn't realize that 'SAW' & 'Open Water' were also LGF's films too but I wasn't surprised.

You play paintball? If you are ever in Houston, Texas get in touch with me. My husband and I are serious paintballers! My callsign is Medusa and our team is the Texas Rangers.

I wish I had read this thread before buying Alone in the Dark on pay per view this weekend. I turned it off halfway through. that's what I get for not visiting the forum every day.

Scott Miller Wrote:Decadent Evil is a pretty damn good low-budget vampire flick. I checked it out for its humorous potential, but ended up liking it because it was decent horror.

Immortal is about Egyptian Gods set in a Blade Runneresque type future New York. It combines live action, CGI and animation to create one of the more unique looking films I have ever seen. It flags a little towards the end, but overall I was impressed. It is directed by Enki Bilal, based on his own comic.
I watched Immortal the other day. I can't say I really liked it, but that is mainly a personal taste rather than a critique of the movie itself. It was definitely unique and very beautifully made.

I just saw the Japanese movie 'Versus' over the weekend. I enjoyed it, but man was that movie bad. The story concept was cool and so was the action, but the acting was way over the top. The hero was too calm and collected, the villain, too insurmountable, the bad guys, too crazy, the girl, too scared and mysterious. Thinking about it, it's hard to picture why I enjoyed it at all, but I did. I'm watching 'Audition' now. It's pretty slow so far but interesting.

I am quite surprised that anyone would ever pay money to see a movie directed/produced/written/whatever by Uwe Boll. Click HERE to see his less than stellar filmography.

If that hasn't bored you to tears, stop by his personal website at http://www.uweboll.com for a good laugh.

I was ready to turn it off...and then that burlap bag in the background moved (you'll know the scene). Not many films can give me a frisson these days, but that...BRRRR! This is not a film for the faint of heart.

As I was very bored I clicked on the link to the Uwe Boll website and I must say that was very funny. Maybe one of the most well designed websites I have ever seen. Good stuff. :p

*blinks* it struck me as a tv movie, not a theater movie. Don't get me wrong... I've seen a few better than average tv movies. Like one I caught where it was a story about a firefighter keeping a girl alive and awake who was trapped under a tractor trailer while it was on fire.

It never said if it was based on a true story or not... but I've heard some impossible ones and have a few friends who have survived similar situations.

But Alone in The Dark should have been worked on alot longer.

Heck... Resident Evil proved that a video game CAN be made into a decent movie. Both of them.
