F. Paul Wilson was the Guest of Honor at the 1990 World Fantasy Convention. His featured presentation was an hour-long interview session hosted by Joe Lansdale. With their permission, I taped the session so I could transcribe it for an issue of Lights Out!, but the newsletter ended, and it was never run. I recently found the tape and have created an MP3 file that you can download and listen to. This is presented with Paul's permission.

F. Paul Wilson and Joe Lansdale, WFC '90 audio

The file is 26MB, so it'll take a while to download, but it's worth it.

Enjoy!

Welcome to the board, sickthing. I haven't had a chance to listen to the download yet, but that picture of Paul is worth the price of admission! He's absolutely adorable! And so preppy!

Thanks for posting this.

Years ago my mother used to say to me... "In this world, Elwood, you can be oh so smart or oh so pleasant."
Well, for years I was smart.
I recommend pleasant.
You may quote me.

Thanks for the welcomes! I've been lurking here off and on for quite a while, but never had much that was relevant to say. I saw you here a long time ago, Kenji! Smile

I hope you enjoy the audio, and I'm glad you liked the picture, Maggers! I have a couple of other pictures I took at NECON '90 that I'll try to scan before too long.

Oh, and regarding the name: I run an Alice Cooper mailing list called SickThings (named after Alice's song "Sick Things"), and it's how Alice fans identify themselves now. Since I run the list, I'm SickThing on most boards.

Don't let a little thing like relevance stop you from posting. I didn't get my high post count by being relevant. Big Grin :p

See how that works?!?!

The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents. ... The piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality, and of our frightful position therein, that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the light into the peace and safety of a new dark age.

this World Fantasy Convention photo is from Hunter's site. A bitter-sweet memory. Bob Bloch, Julie Schwartz, and L. Sprague deCamp -- all gone. (I have to smile because Julie never missed a chance to put an arm around a pretty woman.)
