I just listened to the interview. Very enjoyable and informative. I particulary enjoyed concentrating on Paul's voice and his unexpected laugh and comparing the ever so slight Jersey vocals to Joe Lansdale's heavy Texas twang. Of course, the content was interesting, too. Big Grin

Paul, flash forward 15 years to the World Horror Convention in NY last month. The questions from the audience were nearly the same. I bet that happens a lot.

It was also neat to hear Paul talk about Repairman Jack...that he'd just written an RJ short story, that RJ would be a key figure in the as then untitled "Nightworld," and that he wasn't sure if he was going to write another RJ novel! Ha! Now here we are, 7 soon to be 8 RJ books later, all the richer for it.

Very cool. Take a listen if you haven't yet.

I recommend pleasant.

It do. Haven't heard a new question in ages. But then, there's only so many relevant questions an audience can ask.

Hmm...did someone else ask you about your view of psychiatrists and your use of them in your novels? I thought that was a fairly novel question, and I liked your answer. It opened my eyes to the use of characters and characterization in writing.

What...is the air speed velocity of an unladen swallow?

The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents. ... The piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality, and of our frightful position therein, that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the light into the peace and safety of a new dark age.
