I believe this is my first ever post but I have been a lurker for awhile. And a RJ fan since first reading The Tomb. Although a FPW fan since early eighties, when I first read The Keep. It is still one of my favorite books which I periodically pick up and read again.
After reviewing all the posts on this thread again and reading the latest newsletter, I've come up with this list of potential RJ's. I believe they all fit each of these descriptions.
They are in no particular order as it is difficult for me to envision anyone replacing the RJ in my head.

Can't say a name, but he's been mentioned in this thread. (Heh. Who hasn't?) If he goes for it, I know I'll be happy, and I think you'll be too.

fpw Wrote:Yes. He's in his 30s. Can't say anything beyond that.

05/07 FPW Newsletter "Oh, yeah. Forgot to mention: I like the choice. The name didn’t ring a bell, but then I looked at his credits and realized I’d seen him in a number of films and liked him."

Michael Vartan
Tony Curran
Nathan Fillion
Ryan Reynolds
Dominic West
Stuart Townsend
Sean William Scott
Cole Hauser
Bryce Johnson

Thoughts?

They tend to give me a headache so I avoid them at every opportunity.

If the name didn't ring any bells, I'm pretty sure we can cross Ed Norton and Hugh Jackman off the list (not the list above, just THE LIST that's always been going on here hehe). As much as I've always wanted Ed Norton to be Jack, I also always knew that wasn't likely to happen. Sad

Of course, FPW's statement also probably means we're safe from Ashton Kutcher. Big Grin

Hm...Josh Lucas?

I know you can't say, but this is fun... almost like a scavenger hunt. Wink

How many vikings does it take to change a light bulb?

None. The light from the burning monastery is more than sufficient.

May the Norse be with you.

That begs the question...where will the film open? I'm jumping the gun, I know, the darn thing isn't in the can yet. But any ideas about the opening, Paul, or way too soon to think?

Wouldn't mind seeing him say yes.

Oh, well.....that's good! I've never seen his directed movies anyway.

I would choose John McTiernan or Stephen Hopkins. Smile
