I have a couple of choices. I always thought the two best people to play jack would be:

Edward Norton if he was buffed out and muscled up like he was in American History X

My other choice was James Mcavoy from the movie Wanted. Throw in some brown contacts and you have an awesome Repairman Jack.

Anyone else simply just wouldn't pull it off in my eyes lol.

Age is just a number. Hollywood has a way of stretching an actor's "30's" out for about 25 years.

I'd rather see one great Repairman Jack than a silly one that didn't do well enough to warrant a sequel anyway.

"Tommy" is less believable as a tough guy (batman is proof of that) than Tom Cruise playing the other Jack.

Mike Hanson Wrote:[h=1]Joseph Gordon-Levitt (31 years old and 5'10").

Right age (for a few more years), right height (average but not short), right looks (handsome but not a pretty-boy), solid actor (anybody see INCEPTION, or LOOPER or DARK KNIGHT RISES? And for a quirky Jack side, remember his TV work in 3RD ROCK FROM THE SUN?).

Why people keep mentioning movie stars between the ages of 37 and 55 is beyond me. An RP movie will set a standard for a franchise, and thus needs a "young" Jack whose lead actor can at least do 3 or 4 movies before reaching the ripe old age of 40... IMHO. :peep:[/h]

Whoa, that sounds like best choice to play Jack especially since he is becoming more popular. Hollywood better make a RJ movie and cast Joseph in the role before it is too late.

Who else but Tom Cruise? If he can play Lee Child's (6 foot 4 inch) Reacher he can certainly do the average person bit.

But honestly, I think Gary Sinese would be good.

Morgan Freeman would be my choice, but his teeth are a little too crooked to be unmemorable. My vote goes to JCVD.

Edward Norton. Not sure why, but it would be interesting.

Ashton Kutcher may seem like a joke, but keep in mind, he fits the bill:

Unassuming appearance, yet still handsome; could play 'happy joking' Jack as well as 'angry dark' Jack. Ashton's age is 34, which happens to be about the same as Jack's age, which is 34-35. Has many different appearances (chameleon), although Ashton's slight cleft chin would require a bit of facial hair to cover it up, because I don't think Jack had a cleft chin. Oh well, no one's perfect...

Also, Ashton could easily turn his Punk'd pranks into Jack fix-its.

Well, why not me? I'm a skillful man of action! Oh, right...Jack is described as average looking, and I'm incredibly handsome. (TAKE YOUR ACT ON THE ROAD, LINDNER. IT MIGHT PLAY THERE.--DR.ROMA)
