So there's going to be a remake of Red Dawn. Could the studio at least have stood its ground and kept the Chinese as the bad guys, as they had originally planned? I'm thinking that the remake will completely suck, in part because it's the North Koreans who are the invaders. North Korea invading the US without any help from China? Please...

Not that I have high hopes for the remake actually being good, even if China had been the invader but at least it would have been slightly more credible.

Why do I always do this to myself???

Sometimes I hate remakes...this will be another of those. On the other hand...Total Recall looks kickass.

Really? That's too bad. The previews I saw looked pretty good.

Don't know if I'll be wasting ten bucks to see Red Dawn. It wasn't like the original was all that great. I'll probably wait til it shows up on Cable. The Total Recall remake looks pretty bad. Then again, the best part of the original is when Kuato popped out of that dude's stomach and began blubbering: "Open your mind to me..." Me and my teenaged friends got a kick out of that and would do a pretty funny impersonation of that for years afterward whenever one of us noticed the other wasn't paying attention to what we were saying.Cool lol

The Total Recall remake is somewhat lacking. I'm not saying that the first one was the best movie EVAH, but there's a certain entertainment/cheese factor in that movie that was completely missing in the remake. And the villain was just meh.

I'm glad I'm not the only person that thinks the original Red Dawn was kind of meh. Last time I tried to watch it I think I fell asleep, woke up, and changed the channel. Just one of those movies that I just cannot get in to.

I thought the new Total Recall was far better than the original. Granted, it's not as cheesy and there are no freaky mutants (I can't help but think of the 3-breasted woman who made a brief cameo as more taking part in the advanced cosmetic surgery that was obviously present in society) or psychic powers, but that didn't bother me. I also liked some of the details they added to it showing they could think just a little outside the box. Granted, the original was before my time (I was 7 when it came out) so there's no nostalgia factor to make me curse the new for "messing with my youth."

Besides, how can I not like a movie where Biel, Farrel, and Beckinsale get so much screen time? Smile

And I saw the preview for Red Dawn. Movies like that don't interest me much but I'm betting my girl will be wanting to see it since Josh Hutcherson is in it (so I might get pulled into seeing it myself). Rolleyes
